Hi all. Afraid it is not 28.6. Callipers say 32.6 so 33 seems nearest. I’ll go with that.

Seatpost clamp size for a ‘531 tandem’ Reynolds tube set?
The seatpost clamp on our tandem has finally gone and I need a replacement. Does anyone happen to know the correct diameter seatpost clamp I would need? The seatpost is 27.0mm.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: ...of a worse bike frame representation?
I called it fantastic did I not?
I haven’t been on these boards for a while but it seems they are now frequented by some pretty serious people getting serious about not very serious things.

...of a worse bike frame representation?
I’ve often found it hilarious how people can get bike frames so wrong. Reading some Dr.Seuss tonight with the little one and came across this fantastic tandem.
Anyone else come across any others lately?

I used to cycle a lot round there. I have highlighted some of my favorite hills on a map and attached. Be warned, some are killers!!

Re: Advice - value of a Jeff Jones complete bike
Hi there Slowster. Yes I thought splitting may be a good idea.
The bike can’t have more than a 2000 miles on it. I’ve basically used it for commuting for a bit after buying from
A guy who was having to get rid of a lot of impulse purchases (more money than sense!)
Have tried to register for the single track forum but can’t post a topic or a reply. Very frustrating.
Any idea on value of the rohloff set up (wheels included) and separately the JJ frame plus all other kit?
Btw, the lowest gear on it because of the double chainset is ridiculous, you could probably get up a vertical wall!

Advice - value of a Jeff Jones complete bike
Hi everyone.
Sadly I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to move on my JJ.
I am simply not using it for its intended purpose. Mainly due to a mix of new parenting and getting into road cycling and touring again.
I would really appreciate any advice on its value as I am completely clueless on this.
Thank you very much in advance.
Details as far as I can figure out...
Jeff Jones diamond steel frame with truss fork
DEORE XT hollowtech 2 chainset
DEORE XT front derailleur
Race face seat post and stem
Rohloff 14 speed hub (have original box and bleed kit) - has been serviced annually
Halo rims
Hope dual pot Tech evo hydraulic brakes
SAN Marco ASPide saddle
Schwable big apple tyres
Eccentric BB shell
Chris King Headset
In very good condition. A few scratches, no dents no dings. Hub works smoothly and is a great ride

Re: Second hand bike from Netherlands- shipping issues
Hello all. Thank you for all the suggestions.
After a LOT of trawling and using various parcel companies such and brokers such as Shiply I came across ParcelBroker who are willing to do it for £124.76 which I feel is quite reasonable. The other quotes from DPD and DHL etc ranged from £250-500. I did notice on eBay there are people selling bikes with a suggested postage cost of around £107 from Netherlands to the UK. I've asked what they are using but am still waiting to hear back.
I am going to get the chap to refund me the money for the shipping element of the price and book it myself. This will probably be worth it to avoid any confusion with the various VAT/Import duty issues.
Very good idea on splitting to get under the VAT/Import duty issues! However, it is all packed and I don't want to mess the guy around any more

Second hand bike from Netherlands- shipping issues
Hello everyone. Wondering if people can share their experience?
I purchased a second hand bike from a lovely guy in the Netherlands. All packs d up, price agreed on shipping. Figured I will get an import duty but worth it.
Gent goes to shop the bike and is told that NL Post will charge a minimum of €250(ish) to ship. Have looked at DPD and other options but the majority are simply not shipping to the UK at all. The ones that are are insanely expensive, like a very expensive thing to do. Maybe it’s a case of supply and demand at the moment until these companies start shipping again?
Is there a reason for this sudden increase? Uncertainty for couriers because of brexit? Regardless of this, do people think it is worth waiting things out until things calm down a bit in a hope that prices will drop?
Thankfully the seller is a gent and is willing to either refund (despite it taking time to package and drive to the post office) but is also willing to take my lead and wait it out.
Thanks in advance

Alternative to Deda Piega bars
Howdy everyone, I'm looking for a pair of bars that have the same short reach as these but in silver. Must be 26.0-26.4mm...

Any ideas? Ideally with double cable grooves to facilitate 9 speed Campagnolo ergo levers.

Re: Tandem triple front mech issues
Have ordered said derailleur and will give it a go. I really do not want to go any higher on the outside chainring. Tandems require both riders to be happy with the set up, we had a 48 on there and we hardly used it so I think a 46 would be much better.
I may try an eccentric shim as well to shift the derailleur forward a fraction to help it avoid the chainstay cable guide. Will report back!
