Re: Pennine Cycleway
Hi..Not sure if I can be much help as I cycled the PCW a few years ago and the alternate route you mention was still subject to negotiation with the M.O.D( I think)..But the official route as I remember was a really nice ride and there is or was a good cycle cafe in Elsdon...

Re: Getting home from John O'Groats
When I finished Le Jog, I used the train back to Inverness then Hired a car on a point to point basis..Dropping it off in Gateshead which left me a short ride home...I didn't plan to do that but the trains from Inverness were all busy and I hadn't booked...It worked out well in the end...

Re: Decathlon lightweight tents
I agree..I have also been in an Ultra Quasar that was flattened in fairly strong winds.. The Stratospire I have is the solo which pitches very taught and the wind just seems to roll over it..I haven't used a Spacepacker but they seemed to be a popular tent a few years back..I did own a Backpacker 2 and also a Jetpacker..Both good tents but I prefer side entry tents now hence the Strat 1..I've also just treated myself to a Hilleberg Soulo.

Re: Review of Ridgeback Expedition 26"
Oh I don't know about that..I'm not an expert but i thought the OXFORD BIKES were pretty much spec'd the same as others around the same price and just because a frame's made in the far east doesn't make it inferior.(although some might be)..I was looking for a flat bar tourer ..Search the magic interweb and there are quite a few, but actually finding a shop that has any is a different story..I think OBW fills a gap in the market at the mo but other manufacturers are starting to catch on..Look at GENESIS..Two flat bar tourers that i know of and Salsa are also getting in on the act..Thorn stands out but its a long way for me to visit..I know customs always been an option but probably more expensive..
