Re: Touring saddle bag

Could you get a clip onto the seat post rack from tesco currently in their clearance section and then get some bungees and put any old bag you own on the back.

Re: Camping on Medway Kent

There's some campsite reviews on the camping and caravanning club website but its not somewhere I'm likely to risk camping.

Re: Trail A Bike For Tourer?

Hi,

I have the follow me tandem and use it on both my tourer and my hybrid although the latter is only for towing the empty bike it's heavy but very stable.

Seren didn't use it while we did our trip http://10mileseachway.blogspot.co.uk/ so it was dead weight but she is a bit older than yours but no issues with panniers (see pics on blog) and will last for years.

Our trailgator had various replacement parts and often needed tightening and re alignment.

Either system I definitely recommend them using their own bike just because its theirs

Re: is my tent concidered heavy

My 2 man tent weighs 3.9kg best part of a kilo is the 12 pegs but I didn't bother getting lighter ones.

I too am an overweight dreamer

I spent 1 night with my daughter in it cycle camping, 2 nights with her climbing my wife used by it for a 3 night conference and we are about to lend it out for a 2 night conference

So my dream tent has done well!

Back to heavy tents look at where the weight is pegs and poles could you get lighter ones?

I'm looking at 12.5kg+ family tents for the bike next so we can all go cycle camping...

Re: Weak cycling partner problem.

Sounds like a ride with my family

however I dont see it as a problem so what if we average under 6 miles an hour there is plenty of interesting things to see and talk about on the way.(my wife and I take it in turns to walk with our daughter on the rare hills that beat her) The number of times I get overtaken by Carbon riders only shows that I would be the same to them if I were riding with them.

Change your perception and it will be fine

where do i keep

My insurers insist I lock my bike to something in my garage.

This seems reasonable.

So for kudos who wants to guess where I keep my angle grinder?

Re: Islabikes CNOC 16 mudguards

Hi,

I tweaked ours, making sure that the bolts were tight first as they came loose once and then just a small pull to make sure they are aligned on a regular basis.

Re: Ditching my Hybrid for a full Spec Tourer

It's not a proper mid life crisis until it involves a Rohloff Speedhub....

I agree on the trucker mines a disc trucker the colour is lovely.

Here's mine! (trucker not mid life crisis honest)
