The numerous threads on here asking for route advice - I think anomalies like that highlight why it's so important to plan your own routes to cater for your own needs.

Quite right, I've not looked that far north. I did however like the way it crosses Cornwall, all small roads looking at google street view.

LEJOG - Quiet, scenic and long

Not sure if this has been shared here before. Here's a link to a LEJOG route that I stumbled upon on the 'Travelling Two' website. The route was put together by David Piper - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16355794

I really like the look of it, thought I'd post it here to see what you all thought of it.

Re: Cicerone route - what would you change

Hi Norman,
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. i'm enjoying the planning phase but just wanted to cash in on local knowledge and experience. I wondered if a few changes to the spine of the Cicerone route would make for a sensible route which can still be accompanied by the guide book.

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the link. I see you make quite a lot of use of the A38 from Appledore to almost Taunton. How do you find this, I've been doing my best to dodge A roads

Thanks, it's much appreciated

Cicerone route - what would you change

Hi, I like the look of the cicerone end to end route but what would you change about it?

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16355794

Thanks to MickF's suggestions I have already changed the start out of Cornwall (not changed map yet). I've plotted a route for both south and north coastlines and I'll take whatever the weather dictates on the day.

Is there anywhere else that the books route could be improved?

Cheers in advance

Re: Lejog - north or south out of Cornwall?

Thanks Mick, exactly what I was after!
In your opinion (or anyone's) would the north or the south route be the best lead into Devon and onwards?
Thanks again.

Lejog - north or south out of Cornwall?

Hi, I'm off in a month for my first crack at lejog. for me it's not about speed, I'd like to find a scenic route with plenty of photo opportunities. I've not got a lot of miles in this year so if I can avoid the bigger hills would be my preference. Would you recommend north or south out of Cornwall?
Thanks in advance

Re: Current link for robs passage route

Thanks MickF & everyone
I've sussed it out, the link does work but you need to select another map option from the drop down box on the map, the default map seems to be no longer :D
Thanks again!

Current link for robs passage route

Hi all,

I've seen lots of references for Robs Passage to dodge the worst of the Cadbury Hills between Crediton and Bickleigh as part of a LEJOG route. Does anyone have a link to a plotted route, everything I've come across is inactive or will not display.

P.s does anyone know if Robs Passage is used in the Cicerone End to End route?

Thanks in advance

very nice write up.
Hi, no, we only saw a couple of dog walkers but by that time we were packing up. Pitching up late and leaving early paid off.
