Re: how to adjust shimano ultegra levers?

Thank you all for the answers. Mine Ultegra levers do not have the adjustments. Not sure what year.
I will give shims the chance. :)

Re: Lesser known hazards for off-road cyclists

Once I was shot in the eyes, point blank, with the camera flash.
I was blinded for a moment. Luckily I was going uphill, but what had possessed that stupid man to fire camera with flash into my eyes - who can tell.

Re: Univega Alpina

Good find! Congratulations!
I used to own Univega (not the antique as yours) Alpina 550 (silver/red) - it was stolen from the basement. :(

Enjoyed it and good luck!

Re: Anyone recommend any good books?

pedalsheep wrote:I bought this very cheaply last year from a clearance bookshop as it had a slight printing fault. Its OK but its basically a book for looking at the pictures rather than actually reading. They were accompanied by a professional photographer and some of the pictures are excellent but the text is rather banal - mostly just blokey banter. Its a nice coffee table book but I wouldn't call it a good read.

So it looks nice :) good enough for a gift if I don't find something better! :)
Thx!

Yes of course - but are the reviews on the web shop to be believed? I can imagine that if there are too many negative reviews they will be removed?

Re: Anyone recommend any good books?

I am looking for a similar thing (for a gift).

I found this one "12 Months in the Saddle"
http://www.bicycle-discounts.com/access ... epic-rides

And according to this review http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/uk/ ... 66339.html
and http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/reviews/ ... the-saddle
it looks interesting.

I especially like the fact that the riders seems to be 'ordinary' people (MAMILs) going for an extra ordinary experience. :)

Did anybody read it?

If you had forks and rear sus units with the correct spring rating would they perform as well as air units? Ok, you can adjust the air spring rating to adjust for changes in the weight of you and/or your kit but what are the advantages/disadvantages?

I imaging springs are heavier but air will be costlier, what else?

But can you find good quality XC coil spring forks and rear shocks any more?
