If your phone battery does what you want - why worry.
If you are stuck with it (i.e. no option to return) and it does not do what you want then change the phone or change the battery (there are 3rd party (even Apple Certified) independent repair companies around who are far cheaper than Apple).

My attitude is that if there is not a problem then don't fix it. If there is a problem fix it.

At 720 cycles you battery will be rather poor compared to a new one - maybe 60% to 70% of the new battery capacity. Just checked my phone and the cycle count is 254 and that gives 89% of new capacity.

Paulatic wrote:App doesn't show number of cycles on iPad probably because that's on 10

Depends on how you are trying to read the cycle count. I can read my iPhone iOS 10 cycle count fine.

Or if you have a Mac you can do it from the Mac.

You wouldn't believe it. I've only gone and done a Mick F!

iPhone: Wool wash for 58 minutes at 40'c. Currently sitting in a ziplock bag full of basmati rice in the airing cupboard. Done the vacuum cleaner thing, but it's not looking good.

Can't swear on this forum can I?

We all heard you swear anyway.
I think success with rice relies heavily on patience. Don't try switching it on 'just to see leave for as many days as you can bear.

Heltor, you have my sympathies.
Good luck, and fingers crossed.

It's not water and wetness as far as I'm aware.
It's the detergent, the heat, the washing machine, the spinning etc etc etc.

Mine was dry as dry could be, and it worked ok .............. except the screen was white, so it couldn't be operated.
Maybe the screen pixels had been cleaned and washed away. :?:

The battery has been recycled, and the phone has gone to the local primary school for the children to play at "telephones".

Your issue is with your Mac OS X version NOT your iPhone iOS.

You could try apps (e.g. Battery Percentage) but I don't use them and Apple changed (or rather hid) the API and they sometimes start blocking apps that use "hidden" or non-approved APIs. Mac is the easiest (but not the only) way.

I was told that with anything electronic, if it gets wet, the best thing to do is not to try to use them in any way or even/especially power them up, but to dry them slowly and completely first (without heat) whilst switched off.
Hope the phone makes it.

I ain't upgrading the OS.
TBH, I preferred the previous version.

Done it!
Thanks.

The app says I have a battery with 73% health ........ "average".

Trouble is, mine was powered up, in my overalls, and then in the washing machine. Later, the overalls were hanging up to dry, and still later, I fished my phone out of my pocket.

Could have been powered up wet and very clean for an hour or more before I realised.
It's all water under the bridge now.

73% and average doesn't sound brilliant to me.

This is my 4s at least a year older than your 5c Mick

Yep.
Not brilliant, but ok.

Yours is 1357 of 1430
Mine is 1100 of 1507, so my battery was bigger than yours.

Mine is 73% of original capacity, but if I compare mine to your original capacity, it's 76%

It'll do me fine.

New batteries plus tool kits are cheap enough.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-1440mA ... +5+battery

Instructions via iFixit. Seems easy enough.
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone+5+B ... ment/10587

................. but I probably won't bother.
