Most churches have an outside tap. Plan your ride to encounter 24hr petrol stations or McDonalds.

Good for you, keep it going. Looking at the BBC Weather site you're getting perfect weather, although it'll be warm ('dreich' - miserable, wet and cold up here in Ayrshire though!). Wind to die down by midnight down your way - 8 mph through the night - but still 16 degrees, so you shouldn't get cold.

Hi,
Sorry men, its been a repeat of two weeks ago :(
I have been on the max dose of buscopan (digestive muscle relaxant) it has worked on improving my abilty to eat etc but either its done nothing for extracting energy or the side effects are hampering me :?
I favoured better at 100 miles than last time on general wellbeing but the sudden drop off of endurance and speed after ten or so hours is the same if not worse.
Struggled home after 148 miles, walking up both hills (3.3 miles) then felt so ill so I had to lie down on getting home, this would normally be about right after doing 300 in the past, not half that.

My short term fitness has never been better (3hrs @ 18mph monday) but it all falls apart going further.

Stabbing pains in guts to day on bike and a short spell of visual disturbance a side effect of the meds.

Been suffering for a month with IBS etc and wont go away.

Weather was good and a bit cool for the morning, wind blustery but not bad, 1 kg lighter after so not too dehydrated, eat enough too.
No more this year and its back to the drawing board.

Try riding slower to hit the 500km in 24 hours. You don't need to beast yourself to hit that target and beasting yourself will hit your ability to digest your food.

Off tomorrow before 5.00.
Talked to GP and said that the Buscopan will not effect exercise? We hope.... :?

Fingers crossed, weather good, hope the wind drops.

What happened?

Up here in Scotlandshire if you know the right roads 100+ are easy to find without heavy traffic.

I do Inverness to Inverurie often. 130 miles.
Over the Lecht is fun. If someone moved it my time would drop by half an hour.
2017 Ethiopia.5 weeks.
2018 Marrakech 2 weeks.
2023 Thailand 8 weeks.
Always on a Thorn Raven/Rohloff hub.

Hi,
The course is not that bad and previously I have done 100 in about 6h10min.
It would be ok to do 15.5 if I could go on after 12hrs.
Normaly I am ok for the first 18hrs but on both my rides average is down to 15.5 from before 16.5mph, and on both rides in last two weeks after 12 hrs I cant go on, feel really sick and ill, been suffering from IBS for last month.

Bike is 27kgs having to carry all my food plus whatever you need which includes carrying 5 water bottles.

I will try again but will have to sort meds that I am on, waiting for blood test right now, constant battle with meds and gut problems due to losing spleen in 82.

But I have been feeling very good short distance (up to 60 miles) just my 12 hr endurance is rubbish.
A few years ago could not ride further than 50 minutes without stopping, again due to side effects of meds.

Did a naughty recently and stopped taking one med which gave me a shot in the arm but now plagued again by I am not sure at the moment.
Will continue but its going to be next year, and then I will be 58 :)

Devon coast to coast is about 70' per mile.

27kg's what the hell are you carrying a spare bike? You can do the ride with a lot less, many do on audax rides of much greater length and time. Or take look at what people were carrying on the transcontinental or trans am. Less really is more.
