Hewitt Cycles: prices and service for touring parts

Post by niggle »

Just to say I have found (Paul) Hewitt Cycles http://www.hewittcycles.co.uk/ to be an excellent supplier of touring bike parts with good prices and prompt, effective and polite service. For instance their Sapim spoke prices are actually better than a certain well known outlet in Harrogate:

and they also carry a good range of rims including the Exal LX17 for the same price as that other place:

Postage is flat rate £3.50 and delivery is prompt, 2-3 days IME.

I was born in Yorkshire, but parents moved to Suffolk when I was 7, plus Mum was born and raised in Cheshire (Dad is a Soft Southerner so irrelevant to the discussion). I am not particularly loyal to my supposed roots and IME neither are most Yorkshiremen if it clashes with saving a bob or two

My wife recently had a bike fit by Paul Hewitt.

Very productive and good value.
Paul was helpful and patient, explaining each step.
No time pressure at all, everything checked and checked again until right.

Very decent and pleasant people to deal with.

Yep! Same positive impression of Paul Hewitt.
I bought my Kinesis from him and I'm very pleased.
I did buy a pare of wheels from T'other spot, ower't pennines.
The back wheel has clicked ever since it was put on.
