Can I ask if it was TRAT that you were the support driver for?
I did it in 2005 in 5 days with a great team for "The Race Against Time"

Yes, TRAT.
May 2007.
They did two TRATs that year, they did another one in July I think.
After we finished, we had a big meeting about it, and it was recommended that five days is open to failure.
1. The weather was atrocious over Bodmin Moor. Sleet, hail, rain, wind.
2. We never made it to the first night as there was a big tree down on the A38 30miles short of the place to stay due to the winds. We had to give the riders a lift. Next morning, we drove them back to where they left off.
3. Third day up through Lancs was snow and hail again. In the Scottish Borders, we very nearly had to give up as some of the riders were suffering from possible hypothermia.
4. We made it to Kingussie so late in the evening, the bunkhouse staff refused to let us use the kitchen. The riders left at 0500 the next morning and we had to find somewhere to buy food to feed them a breakfast.
5. The weather was so bad and windy up through N Scotland, the first rider in did the Kingussie to JOG non-stop, and still didn't get there until 7pm. The rest of the riders came in at 10pm.
Basically, five days is fine ................ if the weather is fine!
From then on, TRAT was planned for seven days, and I believe it's six days now.
Route for five days:
LE to S Bristol
S Bristol to Chester
Chester to Moffat
Moffat to Kingussie
Kingussie to JOG.

I'm starting the 5 day ride on Tuesday (July 12th 2016) using a route inspired by the posts on this thread:
Day 1: Mick F's route out of Cornwall including diversions to Clutton
Day 2 Clutton to Wigan
Day 3: Wigan to Abington
Day 4: Abington to Grantown-on-Spey
Day 5: G-o-S to JoG
Hoping for a tailwind

I'm STILL looking at Scott's packing arrangements and thinking it looks good. Surely one of those seat packs is good for Audax too. Puritans will burn me at the stake.

Love the chopper. Has anyone done LEJOG on a chopper? Could break new ground with that one!
I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my SM-G360F using hovercraft full of eels.

Nice thing about Audax, is that generally no one cares what luggage you're carrying, or what bike you're riding. Though that seatpack looks to carry far more than I'd wasnt for a day ride.

I like PH [emoji106]
I think this is part of the reason why Audax appeals. I'm not one for following the crowd, being trendy or spending lots. If it works, I like it it and it isn't silly money, I'm happy. I would do an Audax on my touring bike (Surly DT) I'm planning on my first one after summer this year.
BTW: Some of these Bikepacking saddle bags roll down to a 6l capacity. For a small frame like mine I wouldn't be after more than 12l.

I did JOGLE on my Chopper in 2010.malcolmlauder wrote:Love the chopper. Has anyone done LEJOG on a chopper? Could break new ground with that one!
Read all about it here:
http://jogleonachopper.blogspot.com
It reads backwards of course, so start at end (if you see what I mean)
The photo was taken halfway through the first day. I sent the Chopper and Trailer up to Wick by pallet and I followed on a few days later and stayed over in Wick. Following morning, I rode up to JOG, then back to Wick overnight again.
Day after, I started on south ..................

That's brilliant! That must have been so difficult. The choppers are so cool but they're a pig of a bike to ride! I'm a grifter man myself:-)
