Topic deleted then reinstated: why?

Post by mjr »

Links to the "sustrans cuts routes" topic which was at viewtopic.php?t=139403 have been broken. A "topic does not exist" error is returned, rather than redirecting to viewtopic.php?t=156678

Why? This will have broken incoming links from other sites, as well as 5 links on this forum.

I didn't see this. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe admin knows?

I think it might be because the older thread was merged into the newer thread, rather than the other way round. I think the unique identifier number of the thread now (156678) is the one that was originally assigned by the forum software to the newer thread.
