Streetmachine Pannier hooks.

Post by jimbaab »

Looking to raid the collective intelligence again. Any recommendations for pannier hooks to fit Streetmachine racks?
12mm tube.
Wunderin about the low rider particularly as access under the seat might be a little snug.

Do you already have the rack and panniers, and you're only looking for hooks?

And if so please could you add some photos.

HP Vel racks work fine with normal Ortlieb fittings. The lowrider's no particular problem IME. I think their fittings are all available as spares

Carradice also do an adapter rail for their older bags which have narrower hooks, so that you can use them on the 12mm tubing of HP Velo
racks. Unusually for Carradice, they're quite inexpensive, too. I've got a pair. They look as if they could also be used for other makes.

Thanks lads.
Gone for Ortlieb.
Looking forward to using the low rack for heavy gear. Wallet etc.

I guess you fill your wallet with Krugerrands...

The lowrider works exceptionally well for heavy stuff. Under the rider and between the wheels the only effect on handling seems to be to glue you better to the road.

If you get one of Ort's bottle mounts for the pannier then it gives you what I find a much better place than the standard mounting braze-ons.
