If anyone does Emotor repair and or refurb?

Post by foxyrider »

In the automotive world its common practice to refurbish alternators / starters etc so is anyone doing this for Ebike motors rather than just running a diagnostic and telling you that you need a new motor?

Yes i have a vested interest, an ebike with a motor fault that i'm sure isn't terminal but without even looking at it, the experts say it needs a new unit at £900! What happens to the old units? are they just binned?
Convention? what's that then?

Motor faults can often be sorted by a battery management system reset.
I was convinced mine had a motor issue but a BMS reset cured it.
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway X2, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840 :D

Depends what's wrong with it I suppose.
But this place does a wide range of repairs and servicing on various makes of ebike motors.
