Re: Sad start to Monday morning.

Thank you Coffee. He was walking home from a friends house in the early hours along a terrible stretch of road in Cornwall when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Sadly he died at the scene. Not really sure yet if it was an error on his part that caused it or by the vehicles driver. Either way it w...

Re: Sad start to Monday morning.

Oh the ironies of life ! Just over 6 weeks after starting this thread my own son has been killed on the road in very similar circumstances. Although he was a pedestrian rather than a cyclist.

Re: Decathlon Sports - £99.99 Btwin Folder

My second full commute in today and I am getting more used to the B'Fold and am gaining confidence in it. Have to say I am very impressed with this little bike and its £100 price tag. Have already made use of its folding capabilities several times now. Seems like an ideal solution to riding in the c...

Re: the best battery lights for being seen?

A weekend battery change on my front light prompted me to realise that regular changes are important. LEDs tend to soldier on even with weak batteries, where as older style lamps with bulbs the beam tends to noticeably yellow and weaken. With new batteries fitted my front light is once again super b...

Re: Boxes of Spokes

Thanks for your answers, was being a bit lazy really there. A quick search on Ebay brought up prices for boxes of spokes. Not sure what size I need as I have no experience of bespoke wheelbuilding. Was thinking of having a go at building myself after reading Sheldons site, but there is quite a bit o...

Boxes of Spokes

Is there a usual quantity in a box of spokes? Want to get a 20" fixed gear rear wheel built, but my LBS have told me that because the spoke length is not a normal in stock item I would need to purchase a whole box of them.
