Re: How to report an assault?
In your report you also need to make sure you emphasise how "alarmed " and "distressed" it made you feel and hopefully this will flag up and be taken more seriously than "just" a traffic offence.

Re: Unprovoked road rage
probably not unrelated to the obvious increased use of recreational drugs...as backed up by the increase in driver s being caught under the influence!

Re: Poyner's of Wolverhampton
The F.R refers to Fred who as said was known as "nutty" Russell, but should have actually been "Gnutti" which was, I am led to believe, a particular brand of cycle component of which Fred was very fond, hence the nickname. We also had a "Campag" in the cycle club, (Wals...

Re: Death by Dangerous Cycling
If such a law is put in place does that then also mean that "all" cyclists that cycle on the public highway will need insurance?

Re: Diverticulitis/diverticulosis
I am not vegetarian. I don't eat a lot of meat though. I have increased my intake of fruit and veg, and also use Fybogel to increase my fibre intake. Only a few weeks ago having returned from holiday, I let my diet fall into old habits, and wasn't getting enough fibre, lo and behold got struck down ...

Re: Diverticulitis/diverticulosis
I have also been diagnosed with diverticular disease and have had two bouts of diverticulitis this year, the latter I am just getting over now. Despite changing my diet (which I thought was OK before). I think the latest bout was caused by getting dehydrated whilst away working, and during the long ...

Re: 100 mile a day commute?
Personally I wouldn't recommend it, it sounds too far.
I used to do a 52mile commute when I was in my 20s and was a fit club level racing cyclist. Even then by the weekend I was pretty done in, and add in bad weather, headwinds, ice and snow......!

Re: Prostatitis
I was diagnosed with prostatitis two years ago. I think it started with a urinary tract infection that went wrong.I also declined Ciproflaxin at first as I had side effects to this antibiotic before. After the first month though I had to relent, and finally went on ciproflaxin which thankfully did c...

Re: What temperature do your shorts come off?
"Never wear shorts in a month that contains an "R"..." I was told as a lad, which I more or less follow with the odd exception. My knees still work 40 years on so hasn't done me any harm.

Re: New tarmac composition and modern bike tyres
My own experience of these road surfaces is pretty negative having lost a friend and club mate recently due to a fall on such a surface. It has since transpired that this stretch of rural B road in Suffolk has so far caused at least 7 bikes, 1 pedestrian (the paramedic slipped as he stepped off the ...
