Ghost TR5200 8 Speed Alfine Hub - 45cm hybrid bike

20200227_084608.jpg 20200227_084512.jpg Bought in 2013 for £1050 (got original receipt). Used for 3 years for weekend day rides of around 40 miles and a couple of short Scottish tours. Not really used for last 4 years as not riding as much and if I do I use partner's spare road bike. It has been we...

Re: Toe Overlap on Charge Mixer

Thanks Colin. It's all getting a bit technical but we may look into it as don't know what else to do unless we do just put up with it, but it has spoilt what is otherwise a nice bike. Wish we'd test ridden for longer but because we'd never come across it before didn't know to look for it and it just...

Re: Toe Overlap on Charge Mixer

Colin - going back to your reply to me on Tuesday about the forks, which is what we think is going to be the best way to resolve this can I clarify: I have a medium frame (so 71 deg angle) Mark has a Large frame (so 73 deg angle) so if we had forks with a 54mm rake do you think it would ride more li...

Re: Toe Overlap on Charge Mixer

In reply to rejohn & snibgo: when the wheel is straight the distance from pedal axle to where the mudguard was is 6.5cm (down to around 5cm when wheel is turned) as mentioned we cut the bottom of the mudguard off (which was really annoying as we wanted full mudguards) but are still just skimming...

Re: Toe Overlap on Charge Mixer

Thanks again everyone - a few responses to your replies: To Colin - Thanks for the technical info - if we go down the changing of fork routes I will take your info to the bike shop. To Thirdcrank & CJ - We quite agree the bike shop should have informed us about this. We have never come across it...

Re: Toe Overlap on Charge Mixer

Thanks for all replies and comments so far. Seems some of you aren't that bothered by the overlap and some, like us, are. Would be interested if anyone has any comments regarding our thoughts on changing the forks for some with a bit of a curve/rake.

Toe Overlap on Charge Mixer

We have bought 2 charge Mixer 11 bikes, which we really like BUT what we didn't notice when we test rode them round the shop carpark before we bought them was that there is quite a bit of toe overlap. It is quite hilly where we live and we first noticed it going up a short sharp hill when we zig zag...
