The first rule of survey club is that you don't talk about survey club.

There was a later post, which hinted at some "rules".
Graham wrote: 3 Jul 2014, 5:48pm Hi Alex,

Well you are polite enough to ask first, so I would permit your survey(s) here.

+ evidence shows that you really are a student.
+ no indication (yet) that you are gathering info for commercial purposes.

Forum users often respond to surveys with constructive criticism. Creating a decent survey is actually a tough challenge.

Post it/them in "Does Anyone Know" section.

pwa wrote: 12 Mar 2024, 1:36pm Also, as far as I am aware, it is (assumed to be?) legal to walk on a footpath taking with you stuff which is "normal" for a pedestrian to take with them, including a pram, pushchair, or wheelchair, although there is no requirement for the landowner to provide a gate for access.
The terminology is "usual accompaniments". Whilst, as you say, there is no definitve list of items, such lists as there are agree that a bicycle is not something people usually take with them on a walk.

Similarly a pram holding a baby is a usual accompaniment, whereas one full of bricks that is functionally a wheel barrow is not.

Re: Gravesend-Tilbury Ferry under threat.

Report to KCC cabinet: https://democracy.kent.gov.uk/documents ... e.pdf?T=10

Summary

Thurrock have found a source of finance to support for 12 months, KCC willing to support for 12 months, Jet Stream (current operator) unwilling to renew contracts for 12 months.

A long-term funding solution has yet to be identified.

KCC looking to find an alternative operator, however only one other operator tendered for last contract. Even if terms are agreed with that potential operator, they would not be able to restart services immediately.

Final day of service will be 30th March.

Re: Filthy bridleway

Get guidance from the Local Access Forum.

No legal obligation to maintain a bridleway in a suitable condition for people to cycle, which is why I despair when National Highways want to deliver new routes with a bridleway designation.

If you use Twitter, follow some of your local rail enthusiasts. There's usually someone sharing details of mainline steam tours in advance, possibly with links to complete itineraries and station timings.

Re: Will these fenders fit on my bike?

The spec sheet in the OPs link says "Goodyear Transit Tour, 27.5x2.0" which are 50-584 (n.b. The tyres in the spec may not be the tyres fitted).
Tyre Guide.png
From the tyre guide the first figure in column 1 and the tyre diameter in column 5 are key.

The tyre size the guards are designed for is 700 x 44, which falls between the two sizes circled in red. 44 is the max width figure, the diameter approx 711.

The tyre size circled in blue are 50 width, 684 diameter.

A number of pics of the bike show it with mudguards.

Ask the dealer which set they recommend?

Re: Will these fenders fit on my bike?

Welcome to the forum.

Short answer - no.

A bit generous on the radius but you may not find closer, definitely not wide enough. There are other considerations with regard to the fitting kit supplied with the guards and the fitting points on your bike which can't be answered without details of the bike and guards (preferably pics or online links).

Re: Is 250w enough power for modest speed up steep hills

Mobility scooters are usually categorised as either Class 2 (4mph on pavement/pedestrian area/cycletrack use) or Class 3 (8mph on road, 4mph on pavement, etc) mobility aids. Anything faster is "unclassed" and cannot be used on pavements, etc.

Class 3 (if used on the road) and "unclassed" need to be registered with DVLA, users of "unclassed" also need to hold a valid driving licence.
