Re: Requirement for four votes in trustee elections

That would probably invalidate it. I've decided on my 4, though I would have probably voted for fewer had I been allowed to. Voting for my less favoured candidates could push my most favoured candidates out!

Re: Requirement for four votes in trustee elections

I've just had the following reply from CTC HQ:

"The vote will only be valid if you vote for four candidates, yes. It will be invalid if you vote for less (sic) than four people."

Re: Requirement for four votes in trustee elections

My version does say "must": point 2 under "how to vote" on the paper voting form that came with the mag.. Normally "must" means "must" but it might not with CUK.

Requirement for four votes in trustee elections

The voting papers say you must use all of your votes. Will my vote be disqualified, if I choose fewer candiates?

Re: tryker

I use them in the summer. As others have said, they get cut quite easily and are prone to punctures, compared to heavier wieght tyres. I'm on my third pair and got around 7,000 km (summer use only) out of the first two pairs, with 4 or 6 punctures per tyre. This is better than the Contact Sports I u...

Re: About to buy a new trike and require e-assist.

Hi, I'm coming far too late to this. I have an elderly ICE QNT with 20" wheels and have just purchased (very expensive) an ICE with Neodrive and 26" wheels. I have had quite a few problems with it but do not want to criticise what is, in many ways very nice kit, on a public forum. Neil at ...

Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

Some one from BC in charge of "recreational cycling" is watching the Facebook discussion. If you want cheap third party cover, you can join a CTC affiliated club and then purchase individual CTC membership for £16 pa which gives you third party cover, legal advice, the right to ride with a...

Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

Two of us have been allocated places at the meeting tomorrow but can not now go. Sue Cherry is not around to reallocate the places. If someone would like to take our places, please contact me at hundchen123 at gmail.com and I'll let you know the names they were booked under.

Re: CTC Life membership

OK but it would have been good to tell people when the rules were changed. After all subscription changes go to the AGM. It would also be good to tell people when they come up for renewal that they would be better off taking out life membership. Someone I advised recently to look at life membership ...

CTC Life membership

Hi, I'm not sure if I am posting under the right heading. No doubt the moderator will move this if it is in the wrong place. I have a lot of contacts who are elderly and have been members of the CTC for many years. I have been encouraging them to apply for life membership. Until recently the rule wa...

Re: I have bought a Trike from Ice

If you are still having back problems and find the foam too heavy, I suggest a cheap single cell foam sleeping mat (or yoga/exercise mat) cut down to back length.

Re: Trice QNT

I have a Trice QNT and suffer from chill coming through the cleats. Try heated insoles from Maplins (separate discussion elsewhere on this forum). They take the chill off the feet - though the batteries do not last long. You may also have problems with cables freezing (see discussion in technical se...

Re: Anyone tried Maplins heated gloves and insoles?

The insoles are good - though the batteries do not last long. When I rode a conventional bike, I kept my feet warm by wearing walking boots and thick socks. Since moving to a recumbent, I've had to use SPD cleats which means I can not wear walking boots and the cranks/pedals really seem to conduct t...

Re: Freezing brake cables

I've now fitted the oilers on one brake cable in the middle of the lowest part. They work well: the oil squirts out both ends when I use the oiler and should clear any water and grot. I've also fitted one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=45807 at the wheel end. I'll fi...

Thanks. I had not appreciated you could fit them in the middle.
