Re: Where to window shop for all things recumbent

I don't think anyone has mentioned recumbentparts.com or toxy.de. Also Nazca has a parts web shop.

Re: Balloon tyres

I've just ordered a Maxxis DTH BMX Race tyre in 49-406 size. I currently have it as 38-406 and am impressed but think it worth trying a larger width. I previously used a 50-406 BA which was fine but I want something lighter and quicker. Been running the 49-406 DTH for a while now, though on a diffe...

Re: Linear Limo

Hi. I'd be very surprised if anyone in the UK has one. The tall seat height is the reason I excluded it from consideration but I'm confident you'd be ok. I'm impressed by the design and the compny. It should be easier to keep in a straight line than the Stratus when climbing thanks to the indirect u...

Re: Ortlieb Recumbent bags

Or if you want to see some Radicals (the mid-size ones, 55 litres) on a Nazca... Just noticed how much lighter the Radical Design bags are. I was hoping the Ortliebs would be easier to mount one at a time but I'm not so sure now. The curved frame on the Paseo is not very friendly towards the Ortlie...

Isle of Wight Randonnee May 5th

Weather forecast is good. Planning on using my Nazca recumbent this time around. I made it round on my RANS last year, although I did push it through East Cowes.

Re: Tax breaks for electric bikes?

The EU has since last year slapped something like a 36% tarrif on electric bikes from China. Anticompetitive or what? I think you'll find that the levy on Chinese made ebikes started in January 2019 as an anti-dumping measure ..... on the upside it's surprising how many ebikes are made elsewhere in...

Re: No more Nazca Fuego

I forget about the Speedmachine. It does seem that European bent bike manufacture is all about tourers with HPV, Azub and Nazca slogging it out. Shame that ICE stopped making bikes.

No more Nazca Fuego

Announcement on web site, reducing product range. No more Fuego or Paseo. Shame but glad the company is continuing in the market.

Re: Changing folder chainset from 50/34 to 40/24 with braze-on FD

On my bent I use an old Ultegra triple with a Sora compact double FD. Have a Spa guard as the outer. Standard ring bolts. Shifter is a gripshift triple. Rings are 30\42.

Re: Maxxis DTH BMX Race tyre 38-406

I continue to be impressed by the tyre but have ordered the 49-406 version (20x1.95) to see if it improves comfort and confidence on my recumbent when riding on roads in poor condition. Will be using a different, heavier wheel with a wider rim and different inner tube. I guess there will be more rol...

Mad stunts on a Steintrikes Roadshark

I have been admiring the narrow track of the Stentrikes Roadshark at 65.5cm. Tippy? Watch this (and it pays to keep watching  ):
