Re: Front rack Tubus Duo, Tara or anything else?

Hi, glad it helps. On the mudguard stays I decided to mount mine directly to the fork rather than using the extra mount on the rack because I'm probably going to remove the front rack when using the bike over the winter and I don't want to have to mess around with the mudguards then. It is a little...

Re: Front rack Tubus Duo, Tara or anything else?

I have an approximate 4mm gap to get the 5.5mm supplied spacer into. It'll go, but feels a little too snug with too much outward pressure on the rack. I'm going to fit a smaller make-do spacer of my own, I think.

Re: Front rack Tubus Duo, Tara or anything else?

That's great. Thank you ever so much for the photos. On mine, the rack is away from the fork, so a spacer is a possibility, it's just a bit of a tight squeeze to get the one supplied into the gap. I'll experiment to see whether with or without spacer gives the best outcome. You've also given me anot...

Re: Front rack Tubus Duo, Tara or anything else?

Thanks gloomyandy. I think I follow that. A picture would be appreciated if you're able. Did you manage to get the Tubus bolt spacer into the gap between the outer edge of the fork and the outer rail of the rack? It's part 6 in this diagram: http://www.tubus.com/documents/1442216160_Duo_MA_24082015....

Re: Front rack Tubus Duo, Tara or anything else?

Hi, I'm sitting here trying to fit a Duo to my new XL 2016 Croix de Fer. I have the Duo that has a sliding range of adjustment, rather than the (I believe slightly older) version with the three hole adjustment. I'm struggling to get the top of the rack horizontal. Do you have any photos or advice th...

Re: How do I find the CTC discount code for the Cycle Show?

Thank you everyone for your advice. It's showing now, but I'm positive it wasn't there earlier (bog standard laptop, IE 11).

How do I find the CTC discount code for the Cycle Show?

I go to the CTC website. It tells me I need a discount code and I need to log-in to obtain it. So I log in. Where is the code? Within a few clicks on the BC website I have a code that gives me tickets at the same discounted price. I presume there is something in this offer for the CTC, so can someon...

Re: Cycling with earphones in

Surely the argument is to give yourself the best chance of benefitting from your sense of hearing to contribute to keeping yourself safe. Why intentionally block one sense off, whether you think you can't sometimes hear cars or not? So would you also ban hats which cover the ears? They will impair ...

Re: Cycling with earphones in

In my club, we (sadly) had to go to the extent of explicitly banning earphones on rides in the interests of everyone's safety when a few started turning up for rides wanting to listen to their tunes at the same time. I despair! Research in America has demonstrated that rider with headphones in stil...

Re: Cycling with earphones in

Why don't you respond to Cunobelin's point rather than trying to change the subject? If you'll give me an opportunity to reply and see where I'm going, I'll happily explain. I find it curious why there seem to be a portion of cyclists out there who resort to on-the-face-of-it information over what ...

Re: Cycling with earphones in

Don't do it. You're adding unnecessary risk to yourself and presenting unwanted extra risk to other road users. Do you close your car windows? You shouldn't because the loss of external auditory input is greater than headphones on medium volume... SO closing car windows.... Don't do it. You're addi...
