Re: 10 speed 11-30 cassette

I cycle in Cornwall and Devon, and have been through the Peak District a couple of times. I pay attention to ALL gears. High ones for downhills and low ones for up them. Various ratios for different hills. 11 to 13t is FAR too big a jump .............. and an 11t cog is too small as they wear out f...

Re: Giro d'Italia

I can get S4C to work, today I ploughed on passed the error message.

What frustrate me is that I have the English version, everything including the commercials is is English with a Welsh commentary. I will have a look at the Freeview resume tonight.

Re: CTC Trustee Elections 2020

Thank you for that, Richard. When we had local councillors it made it easier when making the decision on whom to vote for, local knowledge was a great help. Post election there was easy access to an informant with knowledge of what was happening, an ear to burn . Currently, I know where two of the c...

Re: Cycle mag

I asked for my and my wife's copies to be replaced. These arrived next morning. The "missing" copies have not appeared, can only believe that there is some recycler out there. It would be good to know if they have found and corrected the difficulty. Like previous correspondents we are stil...

Re: The age concession: a crisis of conscience

The word I have yet to read is tradition. I belong to four sports clubs with reduced and in one case zero rates. We moved house away from the Home Counties about six years ago. Out of interest I looked at the season ticket rates for the retired, finding that I could watch Premier League players for ...

Re: New low income membership rates.

The change was undated in the motion. I believed this to be a bit odd. I raised it with Nicola Marshall among other things. She said that it would be 1/11/2020.

Just had a look at a body and the spanners and it seems you need two.The two ends are different sizes, and the locknut seems to be outside the cone. Anyhow, I have two if you want to borrow them.

Re: Anybody going to apply?

We could have a Touring Officer as well. Richard Hallett has his contribution limited by only writing bimonthly. I believe that the facility of contacting CUK by phone or mail and receiving a quick response is needed .

Re: 1945 Footage of District Nurse

In 1964 and 65 my wife was a District Nurse working for EssexCC on the edge of Ilford. Not having a licence she rode a Ladies Rudge. This had one of those heavy duty black steel rear rack with a large spring clip. We attached her tools of the trade to this, they were contained in a galvanised steel ...
