Campagnolo 9speed chainset with 10speed cassette
I have been told that my 9 speed Triple chainset will not work with my, soon to be purchased, 10 speed wheel and cassette.
Apparently it will 'jump'
Has anyone had problems mixing 9 and 10.
I have an 8 on the back currently ( wheel has broken and 8 hubs seem very hard to find ) which works ok with the 9 triple ?
Many thanks as always.

Shimano 3N-80 dynohub and Edelux
I have just purchased a Shimano 3N-80 Dynohub ( built into Wheel ) and Edelux light.
The Edelux instructions state
"If one contact of the dynamo is electrically connected to the frame (e.g.
all models of Shimano), the wires are no longer interchangeable: The outer
conductor of the coaxial cable (not insulated or covered with
black shrink sleeve) must be connected to the ground , the transparent
insulated interior wire must be connected to the phase contact of the
dynamo."
My question is do I just simply insert the transparent insulated wire into the phase contact of the Shimano ports and the remaining wire to the frame thereby earthing it ? I dont want to scrape paint off the frame to ensure a good earth though ?
If so, is it obvious which is the phase port ?
If I insert each wire into each port I assume there is no permanent damage ?
Why do you have to earth it with Shimano but not if you used a Schmidt SON Dynohub ?
Any advice / diagrams would be very helpful.
Many thanks.

thanks for all the advice - I, luckily, had read somewhere not to take them apart
think I will end up going for the Shimano 80 on the front which seems to get good reviews

Re: Sturmey Archer Rear Dynohub into 26" MTB Wheel ?
The hub came out of an old 26 x 1 3/8" - which is significantly different to the MTB.
I had an MTB rim lying around that I thought I would have a go at building the hub into.
I have built front wheels before and mended rear wheels - but not a rear from scratch
I havent measured the MTB that it was due to go into !!!
So a big thanks to you for saving my time !
I will check the MTB and then Road bike as it may fit in there ?
Off to tip next weekend on hunt for 700c or 27 wheel/rim and back on to all the various Spoke calculators !
Thanks again

Sturmey Archer Rear Dynohub into 26" MTB Wheel ?
I have a Sturmey Archer Rear Dynohub AG. A Weinmann 519 MTB 26" Wheel.
I have a variety of spokes but rather than dive in with random spokes does anyone know what spoke lengths I need, for drive side and Dynohub side ~( Larger flange ) and how this should be laced up ?
Many thanks

Campagnolo Triple & double Front Mech. Will it work ?
Morning. New to forum today.
I have just purchased a 52/42/30 triple which has fitted nicely onto my existing ( dbl ) bottom bracket.
Also fitted the appropriate rear mech.
The triple is for a hilly Sportive so will not stay on there permanently.
I would be quite happy for the shifter to work on the 42 and the 30 as its incredibly rare for me to use the 52.
I have had a bash at getting this to work but am failing miserably
Do you know if this i possible or will I have to go for a triple front ?
Many thanks.
