having had more than one bike stolen by someone wanting a test ride we now insist on a card swipe for the full value of the bike(as per our insurance policy) or we send a member of staff along on the test ride.

Brompton will be pushing 2016 bikes into stores now.Its not been a brilliant year for bike sales so far so if you decide which Brompton you want and ring round a few dealers you may find they have a 2015 or earlier Brompton they want to get rid of cheap.

In simple terms a bike manufacturer will have profit margins as will a distributor (where one is involved)as will the retailer.(Retail margins will vary considerably bewtween for example on line and bricks and mortar,lbs and chain...

If the frame is relatively new it should be traceable through the bar code on the frame. This assumes the original dealer recorded this number along with the purchasers details at the time of the sale Of course if it has been sold on by the original owner things could get a little more difficult.
