Re: Deeside to Wirral Cycle Route

For cyclists from outside the area, this Sustrans route 568 was finally opened in July 2013 and has been a magnet for cyclists ever since. I heard last year, but have no evidence, that approx 11,000 people use it every month. My house is at the Northern end of 568, so call in for a cuppa if you're p...

Helper needed for CHARLOTTES TANDEMS ( cheshire area )

We are an international charity, based in the UK, that lends tandems to people with disabilities or learning difficulties. We lend bikes out FREE OF CHARGE, so no-one is excluded by lack of money or ability to cycle. We are now the largest providers of tandems in the UK, I believe. After answering a...

Re: Touring on an electric bike?

Having completed the west half of EuroVelo 12, in June I started on the eastern half from France to Norway to celebrate my 70th Birthday. The first 6 days along the N Sea coast of France, Belgium and into the Netherlands were into a 20-30 mph headwind. On June 27-28 we had record temperatures in Net...

Re: Lejog routes past Manchester or Runcorn/Widnes

Hi Spaman Just found this thread and previous reply mentions going north from Chester up the Wirral peninsula to Liverpool. Having ridden LeJog, this is what I did but I live here as well. Have you looked at Warmshowers (WS) for free places to stay for cyclists. Ive used them for years, both as a Ho...

Re: Tandem rides for visually impaired

Is there any sort of central register available to people in other areas?

Hi Bone fish
Yes there is. Charlottes Tandems set up a facebook group to match tandem-stokers with pilots. See

Hope this helps

Re: Touring bike show?

Well worth a visit to

http://cycletouringfestival.co.uk/

It's in late May near Clitheroe (up t'North) and I've been twice. Would recommend. Touring bike makers are there but what is best are the Speakers and informal atmosphere. You wont be disappointed

Re: Rest and be thankful A82

Hi Ian. 30 of us rode over it in May on a charity ride from Edinburgh to Iona for an Edinburgh hospice. No problem, but you will need to lift your bike over 2 locked gates.

Re: Bus Service to Unst

Three years ago when I finally finished the N S C R western side up at the top of Unst, I cycled back into Haroldswick , waited for the bus , paid £1 to the driver who took my two panniers to the ferry at Belmont. They were there in the ferry hut when I arrived later by bike. I spoke to a van driver...

Hi smuggers I'm the Helper for CT here in Cheshire but haven't been on this Forum for over 2 years (too busy lending out tandems) which is why I've only just come across your thread. The problems with autism & tandems that you and others detail I have seen many times in the 4 years as a CT Helpe...

THE OLYMPIC Road Race at BOX HILL

I'm marshalling at all the Olympic Road Races and T T and a word of warning if you are planning to take your bike on a S W train to see the race. South West trains normally allow bikes at Weekends , BUT NOT ON JULY 28 AND 29. Read from their www below The only exception will be on 28 and 29 July, wh...

Where is this?

I met a couple here yesterday, who were cycling the E2E at a more leisurely pace? Where is it? Hint: don't you think it looks like a narrowboat?
