Re: 2013 - 2016 Cannondale CAADX SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

Latest news on twitter is mid January! Google the email address of the CEO and contact him!! Mid Jan is the latest ETA for replacement forks AFAIK. But to be fair to Cannondale if the reported 10,000 affected bikes is correct following the fatality, to manufacture 10,000 replacement forks in the fa...

Re: 10-50 cassette

Given the quoted small chainring - it's most likely an eBike with a gearbox increasing the gear ratios.

Re: Please explain this frame

cynical Brucey thinks that bikes with short chainstays always 'feel faster' but whether they really are significantly faster is open to debate (*). I'd also note that this frame design appeared at a time and in a place where anything distinctive looking would 'promote itself' when used in racing; n...

Re: Failed B & M Lumotec IQ2 Luxos U

I'm on my third ! - Wouldn't get another. However I would return the the light to B&M to assess for repair - they may just decide it is easier to send you a new one instead as a gesture of goodwill.

Re: 1" disk compatible forks

And don't compare with ( well set up) modern brakes on a solo machine. A tandem with two people on board will take longer/ more effort to stop / slow down.

Re: decent 1/8th chain

A couple of years ago I bought a number of KMC 710SL 1/8" chains from Planet X @ *£3 each ( *Probably 'cos they were PINK ! ) - Impressively smooth and quiet and lasted me well commuting in all weathers.

Re: Moulton SST -- reasons (not) to buy?

While I'm ranting I might as well quote myself. I have owned a few Moultons and I think as a do it all bike they are fantastic. My pride and joy is my AM-18, it is off the road while all the salt is down but I can't wait be be riding it again in the next few months. The downside about Moultons are ...

Re: BB30 bottom bracket observations

If used for cross the previous owner may have jetwashed the bike? or been over enthusiastic spraying cleaning agents or WD40 around the bearing area which would remove probably get past the seals on the BB30 bearings and break down the grease.

Surly stuff in general has increased in price in the last couple of years - Maybe the Trump effect? or import / export duties, or maybe just down to Ison Distribution who set the prices.

Re: Jtek extra layback seatpost

Finally got round to fitting said post. Pleasantly not fiddly to mount the saddle and angle adjustment is nice and easy too. Saddle stayed in place and hasn't moved on a bumpy ( fully rigid ) mountain bike ride. SJS quote the layback measurement @ 30mm which seems about right.
