May just result in juries not convicting , who knows , to me its simple . Life ban from driving . With e bikes and public transport its not exactly that much of a hardship. if they continue to drive under a ban then a very long jail sentence.

Re: Reduced Speed Limits

Dont need reduced speed limits around my village , the pot holes assure that and the effective limit comes down each year automatically and the number of bike punctures goes up and all at no expense to the council

Re: Who are the best/worst drivers on the road?

I was criticised on my motorbike test(1975) for using my indicators too much , I was told my bike looked like a Christmas tree with fairy lights on . Not sure the instructor had culturally got used to the idea of indicator lights on a motorbike. I did pass but then 90 percent did pass motorbike test...

Re: Antisocial cyclists

I generally acknowledge other cyclists, but do not get wound up if they dont acknowledge me. I think always epeting to be acknowledges is passive aggressive. Many are new to cycling , they may come from London where you are trained not to make eye contact or acknowledge anybody , they just might be ...

Re: Sick of Mars bars....

I use to do a lot of long distance cycling and racing 2 PBPs ,1 24 hour TT , 3 12 hour tts etc. You can get all your calories from drink if you wish you dont need solid food . On audaxes I often stop at a coop or petrol station , one pint or litre of milk shake or half fat milk will get you a lot o...

Re: Quiet Lanes

I live in a lane that is on the outskirts of a village but connects to the main road, the lane is in a terrible state with 6 inch grass down the middle of it , flooded most of the winter as the ditches are no longer maintained, potholed , so narrow its very difficult to get a car past a pedestrian l...

Modofied e bike case

I feel it very difficult to reconcile this case with that of the Alliston case . Both on illegal bikes, one doing 10 mph the other 30 mph . The 30 mph e bike case gets off Alliston gets 18 months sentence and they change the law

Re: Anyone else getting close to 1 million miles?

Why so many negative posts about him. I think its something to celebrate . He is not of the GPS generation so verification would be difficult , but I am sure his club members know its genuine and he does not seem to be the type of person to exaggerate . In his younger day he was fast so probably mos...

Re: Cycle space on trains

In my area Shropshire its generally multiple units with one that had a toilet and disabled access etc in one carriage, where you are supposed to store bikes though it does not always say so. I find no issue if I get on at the starting point of the train , but after that its pot luck particularly as ...
