Re: Sending Private Messages
I guessed it was simple. It's always about knowing what button to press. Many thanks

Sending Private Messages
Buyers and sellers are advised to use the PRIVATE MESSAGING FACILITY and not to give personal details, which I fully understand. But nowhere can I find on the Forum anywhere where it tells you how to send a private message to a potenial buyer. What are the nuts and bolts of doing this? Help please.

Shimano STIs
I built up a bike last year equipped with Ultegra 10x2 STIs, having never used them before. The rear changing is great, but very unimpressed with the indexed front changing. According to the leaflet there is a half way trim position for both the small ring towards the large and the large towards the small which is actioned by a light push on the respective lever. However, in practice I found it impossible to set the cable tension correctly to achieve both. To trim from small towards large needs more cable tension than from large towards small and from my experience you can only set the tension correctly to trim 1 way. (If you put enough tension to trim from small to large, then attempting to trim from large to small results in it changing rather than trimming)
I am so unimpressed that I have fitted a friction downtube lever, thus by-passing the STI on the front. This works great, but does leave the brake lever not as firm as I would like, as there is no tensioned gear cable in it now.
I don't see the point of indexing on the front. Why can't there be a friction change STI for the front changer?
