Re: GCN+ closes What are the alternatives?
Sorry to drag this one back!
Has anyone here set up Eurosport, via Discovery, on an Amazon Firestick. I guess we could use the wife's Amazon Prime account but that may not continue. I am a complete techno-numpty and can't work out how it happens or what I get. In the old days of Eurosport player or GCN I could watch all sorts of cycling for ages after it went live.
Is this still possible. Eurosport website is a bit vague in this respect as far as I can see.
Thanks.

Re: Broken Chain! I’m a complete amateur
I would start by looking at the rest of the gearing set up. Is something bent? Stick a new chain on and rotate.
You say that you are new to this? Is the damaged link one of those quick release ones? Just a thought. Might be able to just get another if so.

Re: New Bike New Rubber...?
Is the bike a higher spec model? Shame to spoil it, if it is, with some bits of hose pipe. Robust and nice to ride tend to be exclusive. Compromise or pick one.
New bikes are rarely set up tubeless but it may be possible if it floats your boat. Even my commuter is tubeless.

Quite possibly Brucey. My attitude to almost everything is to ignore or better still stay ignorant of limitations like this until I prove to myself that they don't work. I am mostly ok and doubt I have ever broken anything.

Re: ...a safe way to turn a bike over
As Colin or stand behind it, grasp bars with rear brake on and pull towards you. Don't rest it on the bars and seat. Better to lie it on its side or will that mean risking a back injury bending over? If the OP is so worried about harm they are surely going to be worried about damaging safety features like brakes. You could crack a master cylinder cap.
We have reputation here of being polite rather than honest but am I the only one who actually found this either some what amusing or rather annoying in a nanny state sort of way? Do people really need a video for such things?

"It doesn't work the other way round though"
Oh yes it does.
Out of interest I dropped a12 speed chain on an older chainset. Works fine.

I don't appreciate being blinded. What really irritates me is the use of those lights in daylight or nearly so. Equally flashing rears off road if on at all.

Re: Re-using an old 8-speed Campagnolo wheel
Ah but those are Fulcrum bodies /wheels not older Campag . You have fitted one of those free hubs to a Campag , not Fulcrum, hub?
Just looking at the fitment options. Be good if they do fit ( I would like such a thing myself) but methinks not unless the OP hasn't posted clearly. He does lack detail.

Re: 1" Steerer- worn threads
I created something similar to Colins . Based on an old clip type headset but I just used an ahead/threadless spacer and drilled and tapped a m5 hole. A bolt is then used as a grub screw. Brutal but works well.

Re: Re-using an old 8-speed Campagnolo wheel
l I assume that you are talking about a Campag hub. If so then the freehub, the bit that spins one way, is not swappable with something that will take Shimano bits. Campag hubs mean Campag cassettes . You can get things like Miche cassettes which will fit but I have found that they just mirror Campag sizes. You can play around with Shimergo, see "Too good to lose" lower down the index page .
You could re hub the wheel but to be honest you could just buy a Shimano hubbed one cheaper and especially nowadays when rim braked wheels are losing their value. Flog the Campag wheel, which, depending on the actual hub, may have some retro value.
Why not use the biggest cassette you have and swap the front gearing out? Often easier in these circumstances.

Re: Cycling motivation survey - looking for participants
Couple of things that may not be of interest.
a) somewhat urban centric
b) somewhat fanciful, e.g. "I feel free" Twaddle!
In retrospect it doesn't really ask me why I cycle at all . Sorry to be negative , hope it gives you what you need.

Re: Dynamo carbon fork mounting options
I use something like that 60 quid Nitto thing from SJSC. However mine was a tenth of the price from Aliexpress which is probably the same ultimate source of the Nitto. It sits a bit higher than a fork crown light but is actually in a better position.

Re: Noisy freehub - quieten with grease?
Virtually no grease. I rub a small bit around to hold things in place but it is pretty light stuff or even has a bit of oil mixed in.
Bear in mind that the carbon wheels may make things worse. I have two Shimano hubbed rear wheels. One with a deep carbon rim. Definitely noiser.

Re: Oldest bike
Fairly regularly, meaning a couple of times a month? My 1983 Raleigh that I had from new as a meber of the O Ed dept at Bangor Normal College. Half a dozen times a year? A Dawes road bike from the tip. No idea of age. Resilion cantis and steep, narrow drops. Originally built for some chain stay mounted rear gear system. I assume pre WW2 Near daily? The commuter is only from January 2011
