Re: Matching shifters and front mech

Thanks Brucey Reason I considered changing was that I rarely use the big ring, I thought I may slmplyfy things by losing the big ring (46t) and fittng a bigger 'middle' ring of about 42t. From what you say I don't think it's worth attempting, my 26,36,46 works. EDIT: I was looking at a super compact...

Matching shifters and front mech

Hi All

I have Shimano 4700 triple 10 speed shifters, can I use them with double chainrings using the stop screw to prevent overshifting?
2 If I can do the above, can I use any shimano 10s front derailleur or should it be the specific 4700?

Many thanks

Re: Shimergo - latest news

Hi I'm currently running a 9 speed shimergo with 2003 Chorus ergos and an XT rear mech, I read Chris's post and thought I'd like to have the extra cog. On thinking about it though, I'm running a triple chainset and the GRX mech states max chainring difference 16t - mine is 20t. I've never considered...

Re: Garmin Live Track - not working

Hi Gambler72 I posted a couple of days ago in Does anyone know? Same problem as you. I've reset the Garmin Edge 1000 Explore Uninstalled and re installed Connect Un-paired and re-paired phone and device - all to no effect I spent 25 minutes on 'chat' with Garmin support who said it wasn't a known is...

Re: Best lightweight inner-tube (presta) for 700x25 tyre?

Assuming you're using 25mm tyres as standard, race 28 18-25 tubes weigh 105g - according to Continental. You may have weighed them and know different. I always thought it was worth the extra 20g or so over the lighter tubes for extra durability when I used to buy them.

Re: Drops to flat bar

Many thanks for your responses. I will do more research based on your info.

I have a stronglight/spa 26/36/46 chainset I could put on it so a deore 'trekking' mech might work with that? I am limited for space behind the downtube with mudguard.

THanks again.

Drops to flat bar

Hi All I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find anything by searching. I'm converting a cannondale with drops - Claris 8 speed - to flat bars and need some help. Brakes: I know v brake levers wont work with dual pivots. Some Shimano levers have a widget which enables them to be used with v br...

Re: Strange problem with tube in R460 rim

Thanks Brucey,

I'm using 'plastic' rim tape - Schwalbe I think. I'll fit the locknut as suggested. I bought the R460s as folk said the were easy to fit tyres to but I struggle with them and Michelin Pro 4 SC, not helped by geriatric hands! :(

Thanks all.
Am I right in thinking the hole is larger to accommodate a tubeless valve?
