one thing to consider is at which terminal you are landing.
At the moment you are not allowed to cycle through the tunnel to or from terminals 2&3. It has been this way for a while and I don't know if it will be permanent.
From terminals 4 or 5 you could take the Perimiter Road head out towards Poyle , Datchet and Windsor but you may have to mix with all the other traffic which surrounds the airport. I don't know how you feel about the level of traffic that you may encounter. I often cycle around or though Heathrow but I suppose I'm used to it! You will be sharing the road with cars, buses and trucks.

My wife & I took our loaded touring bikes by train from St Malo down to the Vendee. I just bought the tickets at the ticket office and added 'avec velo' pointing to my bike. It wasn't a problem.

Last year in Brittany the most I paid was E13.80 in St. Malo, the Cheapest would have been E2.10 had anyone turned up to collect the money! the others ranged from E4 to E7.

I watched and enjoyed it, but when I saw the credits I was amazed at how many people were involved in a seemingly simple short film!

I use a Tilley hat. I have never had to use the string/strap under my chin, I have it at the back of my head adjusted for a snug fit and it has never blown off!

I can't add anything to your experiments but would like to know wahat is the best fuel for a Trangia?
Blue/purple Meths or a proprietry fuel like colemans etc.
