Re: A salutary tale......caveat emptor

While not knowing the exact circumstances, I'd have thought the offer of a refund if buyer not delighted would be part of the spirit of friendliness & common interest that underlies interaction amongst members of this group... I haven’t had the time to read every single response to this post bu...

Re: This will revolutionise shifting... or not...

I’ve fitted an avid rolla-majig to my cyclocross bike a few weeks after first building it up (11 speed Campag pre-2015). On my set up shifting is definitely smoother with the gizmo than without. On said cyclocross frame the rear mech cable is routed along the seat stay.

Re: New Ergopower vs. old Ergopower

Maybe I'll stock up on 9-speed parts and spares... This is exactly what I done when Campag 11 speed was introduced to the market some 11 years ago (was it 2009 or 2010?). I could see where Campag were heading when I heard you couldn’t buy a full range of spare parts for the 11 speed components (wit...

Re: What size ball bearings: Campag Record oversize, silver hubs?

Thanks and yes found them as one of the first online stores in the search results (along with bearing-king). I’ll place an order this evening.

Thanks.

So possibly something like this:

Although I realise it would defeat the object of bulk buying if I were to spend that much money on a relatively small quantity.

What size ball bearings: Campag Record oversize, silver hubs?

Thanks for the input. I think it was yourself (or Brucey) that advised I buy whole campagnolo hubs to harvest spares from (ie cups, cones and bearings). Over the years I’ve done just that so I’m tied in to using to Campag 9, 10 and quite recently 11 speed for the foreseeable future. So by and large,...

What size ball bearings: Campag Record oversize, silver hubs?

With the extra time on my hands I’m using it to strip and re-grease some hubs. I’m fastidious when it comes to servicing these hubs, both the older silver OS model with oil port as well as the newer black model that I use. Normally I buy the Campag bearings when performing a service (part no HB-RE02...

Lower gears - Campagnolo 10 speed

I’m very fond of my campag record triple set up but realise now it does have limitations. I recently fitted a bike with a sub compact Sugino OX901d 46/28 along with 10 spd centaur 12-30 cassette for a week in the Pyrenees. It worked flawlessly and the shifting with the sugino rings is superb. The sa...

You could probably find something more up to date

What pre-ride checks & preparation on my New bike ?

To the OP; The tutorials on this chaps site have always seemed easy to follow

The site used to be named ‘bicycle tutor’ and as you’ll no doubt notice the footage does look a little dated.

Re: SRAM O-rings for hydraulic shifters?

On a scale of 1-10 (1 being reasonable, 10 being totally and utterly absurd) how silly would it be if I were to reuse the same pair of o-rings? The shifters in question were purchased new in Summer 2018.

Thanks. That’s a good idea.

SRAM O-rings for hydraulic shifters?

fastpedaller wrote: The other issue is that you need to know the new O ring is compatible with the brake fluid.

This is why I’d prefer to use seals that are part of the SRAM hose kit (although the kit I purchased was £28 so rather expensive to buy another just for the seals).

Re: SRAM O-rings for hydraulic shifters?

Yes, I had thought of picking up something on eBay. Only thing that puts me off is not using an exact like for like o-ring.
