Re: Pictures of your bike(s)
This is a 20.5in. c/c, 1953 "Rivetts of Leytonstone" an east London builder. They didn't build machines for many years. But did sponsor several well known riders. It is actually 21in from centre to the top of the seat tube which protrudes above the crossbar which is the size it shows on the receipt. It was built for a young lady which accounts for the low stand-over height.

I'm 82 next month, but only ride in the garage on a turbo in the last couple of years. Peace of mind for " 'erindors," because of traffic volume, and she don't want to be a bike widow and spend all day on her own. The parrot's not a lot of company.

Slightly curved one-piece blocks obviously from centre-pull brakes. What brakes would they be that has intergrated stud into the block with no separate shoe?

Re: Three Word Story Game (again)
My preciousssssss little puncture outfit, where's the chalk and the blackboard?" "Yes," replied Miss Honey, but Matilda the Tank had grommets, rivets, bungs, and a rather leaky bottle of Milk of Magnesia with Pinot Grigio chopped rats claws and Rhubarb Crumble topped with green-wellie-wearing Santa Fe train drivers and glue sniffers leading sniffer dogs on a wilde Oscar chase, missing the BAFTAs, don't push me over the top said Mr Grumpy to Prof Plum, Reverend Green and Mr Potato Head.
"J'accuse!" wrote Colonel Saunders, "The Chicken Itza pyramid was inverted, pointing upwards towards the centre of the nest, but the ostrich (whose asinine posterior, soaked in tequila and raspberry flavoured rum was aflame) screeched in agony and plunged its Southern Discomfort into a tortilla wrap. A cloud of Wordsworths, wandered lonely by a river talking to the train drivers about wheels and sprockets, when round the bend came Harpic, the forgotten Marx sister, flushed with Mother's Pride and Mars Bars with washboard of lemming pizazz. "But he's dead!" shouted Hardy, pointing at Laurel, lucky, ducky, dandy sang to Andy Pandy and Little boy Blue blew him to bits. Round the corner, the local pub served wenches without bottoms on their tops and sides, the filling was better than the Blue Lagoon Hotpot with dumplings and lost NHS gnashers. A copy of Navy News was too hot to pass round the W.I. so passed my driving test in the altogether brilliant groin elevator, borrowed from the prosthetic appendage toyshop next door to Joe's Horse Burger and Truss Clinic for pawnbroker's balls hanging

Re: Is this cat going up or down the stairs?
I'm purrfectly sure it has taken steps to descend this staircase. A meowvellous example of an optical illusion. OK. So it's a paw attempt at humour!

Can they all be[er]
It appears that every time I get a bottled beer whether it's a micro brewery or an old established brewery it seems to be "An award-winning beer" which beggars the question do people actually drink these beers or just sit around pontificating about it while stroking their beards. Don't they make a normal bitter now that's tasty and not an award-winning beer?

Re: Electric gear shifting?
If you want to go back to basics and the spirit of cycling why don't we all revert to a single-speed free or fixed wheel?
