Re: Alternative road route from Roscoff to Carhaix-Plouger

[quote="quilkin"]Yes, D769 is great. Nice quiet but wide road, gently climbing up towards Heulgoat. Divert to the D14 at Berrien to go to Heulgoat (nice little town, good cafes for lunch). Then down along the river to join the D769 again. Done it several times. I've also done the D9 / D54 ...

I was going to sell my Raleigh Randonneur (Rosie) to my brother. My daughter said "You can't sell Rosie, you've had her as long as you've had me" 22 years

Re: How can people chuck £800 away?

There are many reasons, I have a brand new Dawes Clubman in the garage that has never been ridden. I suffer from Spinal Stenosis, Psoriatic Arthritis and DDD and have had spinal surgery and haven't been able to ride for some time. I also have three other bikes just sat there but selling seems like ...

I'm sticking up for Swallow...tho he needs no sticking-up for. Also,I know no one has critiqued him. Nevertheless, sometimes you need that bit of hope...and,after all, he aint hurting anyone. This is all transference(by me!)as my back isn't quite right(after back strengthening exercises went wrong!)...

Re: Statins - side effects

I have many health problems including Psoriatic Arthritis, Spinal Stenosis and Type Two Diabetes. Following some chest pains I was sent for a MIBI Scan, this measures how well the heart is supplied with blood. As a result I have a letter from the hospital saying the results were very good and the li...

Re: Lorries parking in laybys and blocking the path

Near where I live there's a pinch point where vehicles have to stop and give way to oncoming traffic. There's a narrow cycle lane on the inside so that cycles can go straight through, or could if some selfish person didn't park his old Land Rover there every day, blocking the exit Highway obstructi...

Lidl had this in one of their bike sales just over a year ago. If I remember correctly it was slightly cheaper (the 5%?) and has served me well.

I have the Lidl one not the best but well worth the money

Re: Vitamin B12

I sometimes feel like a human pincushion so plenty of jab experience. Don't want to alarm you but B12 injections are relatively painful as the stuff is fairly thick and has to go in slowly. I jest slightly but at least there should be no after effects and it dies down after a few minutes. I had the...

Re: Osteoarthritis

I am on a cocktail of methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine and naproxen. Ibuprofen is not allowed and the big loss is no alcohol. This mainly affects my hands and wrists and gives difficulty changing gear on my mountain bike and tourer. Have now gone on to Brompton which I can manage ok. Slowly improvin...
