Re: Which Forks?

I can't really see any point in any type of shim, the crown race still needs a 30mm diameter at the base of the steerer to sit around, all you could add is a thin ring of wider diameter underneath it. That wouldn't really change the look of the fork in the frame, and do nothing useful really. The c...

Re: Which Forks?

it'll look a bit better once the crown race is fitted. Just how bad is the damage to the original fork? cheers To be honest no obvious signs of damage but I've decided to change it. Ugly but the integrated headset is perfectly compatible with the steel fork, no adapter needed. There is a much bigge...

No idea what your budget is but surely you can find something better.

The budget is not a lot. I know hence I'm trying to see if there is any kind of adapter.

Re: Which Forks?

Isn't the frame and the current forks designed for hidden headset bearings? If so, I'm not sure you can fit a fork not also designed that way, which probably means you can't use steel forks. You are probably limited to another carbon fork. Or an aluminum one, but I can't see a reason for preferring...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

.... Is the issue that if you are told you are the best, then you end up believing that every other country and system must be worse than your own? .... A bit like here, then? Not quite the same here is it, pledge allegiance to the flag each morning at school and being told you are the best country...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

When was it last not so? 1930s? Indeed. But it won't stop people trying to say there is a great distance in the UK from USA politics. Fundamentally I think the half of the USA is nuts, and we are not. Lots of exceptions, but that is my basic impression. I was listening last night to a US Republican...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

I believe impeachment can be done quickly with clear evidence. And he needs stopping from attempting any future office. If Biden should try to clean up politics - drain the swamp - I suspect the ripples will be felt over here (which, like it or not, will include brexit). Applying the 25th amendment...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

Johnson and Trump are chalk and cheese but Johnson Did try to subvert proper process. It was found to be illegal. Our own democracy had some very shaky moments. I was never one who rejected the 2016 ref or claimed it was advisory only (although it was). But I will always argue that it was fought on...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

... Is that the bit where Labour, trying to hang on for grim death', if parliament can't agree on a way forward, you go back to the people? The result ended with the conservatives gaining a clear majority and mandate to deliver the departure from the EU. If Labour were right then they would have wo...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

I don't think anyone disagrees with protests, left or right. Questioning an election using proper means is legitimate. But promoting violence and storming the seat of government is wrong at any level, whoever does it. Johnson has tried pretty hard to subvert democracy here, whilst not promoting vio...

Re: Which Forks?

hjd10, if you're anything like me then the thought of fork failure will gnaw away at your confidence. I had nearly a year off following my low speed encounter with a dog and I would rather stay upright. I'm no spring chicken and I now know that it takes a lot longer to heal when you are a bit older...

Bike specs. say FSA Orbit CE 1 1/8" integrated headset and 1 1/8" alloy fork steerer. Now I'm not into integrated headsets, and I don't know how many "standards" there are, but a glance at this table shows that there are an awful lot of ways to make different stuff fit..... http...

Which Forks?

Hi, I'm after some information if someone could assist. I have a 2014 Fuji Sportif 2.3 and I'm looking to replace the carbon forks as there is a scratch on them however I bought the bike 2nd hand so I don't know the history of the bike. I'm looking to purchase some metal forks, as to get my forks te...
