Re: Front Wheel conversion

Tbh I don't get all the I hope the bike feels/ride natural like a push bike, an e-bike is an assisted bike so will always have that shove in the back factor which you only get with a push bike with the wind at your back or downhill. The same argument with Torque sensing or Cadence sensing none of t...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

AKM100 is a good little motor but don't try and feed more then 20a or 1000w peak through the hub. For a PAS sensor look for a BZ10C these are Hollowtech specific ones, ebay, AliExpress and Woosh sell them. Yes it seems to go quite well. I’m going to continue with my order from Woosh and then maybe ...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

I managed to pick up a 2nd hand kit which was originally purchased from Woosh... It is a bit of a lash-up on the bike at the moment as I'm waiting for the cut out switches for the brakes and I'm trying to get hold of a hollowtech peddle assist switch. The thumb throttle works though and a quick blas...

And the irony is that Black Lives Matter Marxist aims (both UK US; and worldwide) such as: Abolishing the Police Abolishing the nuclear family My take is that the US police won't reform therefore need to abolished (disbanded whatever you want to call it) then re-established with new rules and guide...

Re: CUK supports BLM

It's interesting to watch how BLM is playing out across the world. I can't help feel that we've jumped on the BLM issue from the wrong perspective. Have you seen the number of people killed annually by the police in the States, it is something like 3 people a day which is a similar figure to the wh...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

I've changed my mind again and listened to some advice. I've ordered the following kit: AKM 85SX Rear hub with cassette, I'll lose some weight as this is designed for people around just under my weight! 13AH Battery & Controller (looks built into the battery case) KM529 LCD Hollowtech pedal assi...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

The Hollowtech PAS sensor costs about £11 and can be bought separately. The Woosh hub will still be a 12 x 10 axle. There are a few light weight hubs for front wheels under 2.1kg Bafang G370 and Aikema have 3 or 4 different ones. There is a wealth of information out there. I didn't realise that the...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

The hub axle will be 12mm x 10 mm, though some hubs are 14 x 10 but these tend to be the really high powered models. Some steel drops outs are plenty deep enough but be prepared to also file the drop out seat 1.5/2mm deeper and more if you use the anti turn washers other wise you might need to cons...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

My friend fitted a Cyclotricity front hub drive to his Raleigh. He found it difficult to control direction even after he fitted the throttle because of torque steer. He sold the kit and bought a Cube ebike with a Bosch bottom bracket drive. He did say that Cyclotricity were very helpful. Al Comment...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

9ah will be good for about 20 - 27 miles in low assist give or take. What forks are you fitting in to ? These on-one chrome-moly forks. I can live with the short-range as the commute isn't far. I'm not sure if the disc brake will interfere with the hub however, I've read that a 180mm disc se...
