Re: Shimano 10 speed Ultegra Chain - cracked side plates

I see this was posted over a year ago.
I had an Ultegra chain break on me recently, and this also had a number of cracked links. I check mine before every ride now!

The old chain had only done about 300 miles.

Re: Sheffield : Stolen Giant Escape M1

Sorry to hear of your loss. Yesterday I discovered that my Trek Soho had been stolen from my garage. They bust the up and over door and cut through the chain that secured it.

Ever read a book by Flann O'Brien called 'The Third Policeman'? It should be compulsory reading for all cyclists. One of the threads in this hilarious book is the notion that a bike exchanges it's essence with it's owner so that the bike takes on human qualities as the rider takes on the qualities of the bike.

I do feel more connected to that bike than I have with any car I have owned.

Hope yours is recovered in good condition, but in reality I doubt there's much chance of any stolen bike being restored to it's owner.

Re: Cycling Pics

Jalan: Regarding your Giant CRS 0. I am about to buy one but I am not sure of the size I need. At about 5' 10.5" with 32 inside leg I would have thought that I would need a 21" frame but the supplier (Wheelies of Cardiff) are saying that the 19" would suit me best.

Unfortunately I have to buy through Wheelies as this is an insurance replacement.

Thanks for your help.
