More to do with travelling by train, shopping in supermarkets and trying to squeez in a visit to RNAS Yeovilton museum.

Accomodation/B&B in Yeovil Somerset recommendations

Hi All!
Can anyone reccomend B&B in Yeovil for the last week of June? Nothing too fancy!
Beauty, of course is that my friend and I don't need a car parking facility.
Safe cycling!

Thanks Vorpal for your comprehensive reply; I could not have wished for a more helpful reply.
Contacting the owners seems sensible.
I wish you safe cycling and Happy New Year!

Route help: Suffolk, avoiding A1120 at Stonham Aspel

Hi all I'm cycling/walking with a mourtain bike from Crowfield Rd to Mickfield via Scotts Hill Rd. My O.S. 1:50 000 from 1974 shows lots of footpaths that link the two roads avoiding the A1120, but then when I check these against the O.S. 1:25 000 Explorer Map 2008, many have vanished and what remai...

Re: Recommendation: Pedal Reflectors to go with toe clips

Thanks everybody I think the bicycle industry has agreed that reflector attachment bolts should protrude no more than 10mm from the reflector  This has to join a long list titled: annoying things about bicycles and include such old chestnuts as lighting attachments to cycles and, and.... You'l...

Recommendation: Pedal Reflectors to go with toe clips

Hi all
I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone; reflectors with bolts sufficiently long to also attach toe clips to the pedal. I estimate the bolt thread needs to be about 13mm long.

Thanks in anticipation.

Allen bolt/screw head decapitation. Removal help please

Hi all Internal thread on mountain bike arching bracket over front wheel for securing m/guard and reflector bracket. The head rounded off two allen keys before I used hardened steel allen key, but this only decapitated bolt/screw head. Any tips for getting stem out please? If drilling, are there spe...

Re: Mountain bike tyre size confusion 26x1.50 v 26x1.95

Thank you everyone who contributed. I understand better now.

When the 1.50s start to show signs of wear, I'll start saving up for a pair of 1.95s if they are still made for road cycling.

Cheers and safe cycling.

Mountain bike tyre size confusion 26x1.50 v 26x1.95

Hi all Will I notice the difference switching from 26x1.95 to 26x1.50? While there are plenty of the latter and I have just bought Schwalbe City Jet, what I am replacing is 26x1.95 with knobles! I think I need the latter size for mostly road cycling but they seem more expensive. And to add to the co...

Re: What bolt size for m/guard,rear carrier on Carrera Banshee?

Thanks for looking freiston :)

For a laugh I thought I'd try a couple of allen bolts for water cages and they fit!
So panic over!
There are two threaded holes each side at the back and an arching plate for a front mudguard.

Safe cycling

What bolt size for m/guard,rear carrier on Carrera Banshee?

Hi all
The holes on the frame dropouts have internal threads.
Please, what size bolts do I ask for in hardware shop?

Thanks in anticipation

Cycle paths beside 'A' class roads East Anglia

ITV local news just announced the Highways England is to add lanes to the A12 Chelmsford - Colchester and cycle paths beside the A12 and other arterial roads in East Anglia. Given how many crossing places have been lost. Bridges are needed, not paths beside these noisy roads. One such example is Eas...
