Re: View from the bridge

You didn't fancy carrying your bike over the top then? That was the second attempt at using the Transporter Bridge in Newport, the first was when we rode from Bath to Cardiff overnight and got to the bridge around 6am and weren't prepared to wait for it to open and there were a few siuggestio...

Re: Recycled bike bits; new uses....

https://www.designboom.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/andreas-scheiger-upcycle-fetish-bicycle-designboom-01.jpg This has given me inspiration, I've been looking for a way of mounting my bike inline with the wall and I have an old set of drop bars. Just need to source some wood and some screws/bolts...

Re: Shimano Claris! Help!

Sounds obvious but before setting up tension on the cable etc press the gear lever so that the gear lever is on the inner ring, from your description it sounds like the gear lever is in the outer chainring position.

Re: TV coverage of 2019 Giro d'Italia?

for better or worse I have always liked watching F1 (even before I was at all involved) but I am dashed if I'm paying Sky for the privilege. Last year when SKy shared the broadcast rights with C4 I preferred to watch C4 for the race or highlights when I wasn't able to watch the race live, I did res...

Re: Recommended camera for helmet mounting?

I'm running a GoPro Hero5 Session on the front of my helmet with a vented helmet mount. As with all cameras on helmets it is noticeable to start with but you soon forget it's there. It seems GoPro have stopped making the Hero Session cameras but there are always plenty for sale on Ebay including ref...

Re: Poorly Garmin Montana

I had the same problem with a Virb camera which was from when the cameras were first launced in the UK so several years old. On dismantling I found the rubber casing simply pressed onto a switch nderneath so cut the damaged plastic away to make a useable hole and filled it with a plastic block and c...

Fox Road to Stapleton Road, Bristol

Have spent the last 15 minutes searching but can't find the original thread but can remember rewcently somebody local asking wether this path was open yet after the new bridge was built to accomodate the additional railway tracks.
Can confirm that it isn't open yet.

Re: Decathlon mail order

I've also had no problems with a couple of orders, but I've mainly bought clothing not parts. Another one for clothing orders and had them sent to a locker collection point which I can get to on my way to work, only issue with that is the driver drops the parcels after I've passed through the area....

That was the suggestion when I went looking for spares for mine, I walked past the heating shop opposite my flat, where I ended up buying them to get to the bike shop to be told to go back where I'd came from.

Re: MTB Cleats Advice needed

M520 pedals on the commute bike here with M780 on the better bike, M520s can be had for around £20 if you look around though the spare pair currently hiding in the cupboard cost me £16 but didn't come with cleats. I started with SH51 cleats back in 1991 and stuck with them ever since on road and MTB...
