Re: LEJOG In 3 weeks time training advice:

We aimed for an 8- 8:30 leave on our recent JOGLE, we camped and did it in 4 days longer than you so although we did less milage, we still made it into the campsite @ a decent time. Even with lengthy breaks, many many puncture repairs and a bit of sight seeing we made it into the campsite @ 5-6pm ev...

Re: Bikes for JOGLES

Agree with the above, I recently rode JOGLE on a Claud Butler Levante. 25mm tyres and got all in all about 10 punctures the whole trip! Mostly due to being unable to get sufficient tyre pressure in after deflating the tyres on the plane to Inverness, but even after fully pumped, I got 3 punctures, t...

Re: We Did It! Ellie and Matts JOGLE

Glasgow -> south was fine. We followed the Motorway service road. The B road that runs along side the motorway (M6? (Possibly not)). Not the most scenic of roads but relatively flat and what I can remember in pretty good condition! Oh- and a warning to any End to Enders. Be prepared to be shocked by...

Re: We Did It! Ellie and Matts JOGLE

Thank you Nigel! As long as you've trained sufficiently and are prepared you'll be fine. Just take it slow, enjoy the ride and treasure the moment. Well worth doing, it really is.
Thank you Gavin Also! :)

Re: We Did It! Ellie and Matts JOGLE

Yes i really enjoyed our journey! As someone who hadnt cycled more than about 10 miles this time last year, and did only a handful of practice rides (up to about 45ish miles), i relied on fitness from other sports to see me through! So id like to say it really is possible for anyone who wants to to...

We Did It! Ellie and Matts JOGLE

After 19 days, a little under 10 punctures (all but one of those on my bike- of which 6 were in the first 6 days) we have successfully cycled from John O Groats to Lands End! What a completely wonderful experience, met so many friendly and amazing people intrigued that we could cycle so far and woul...

Re: ACCOMODATION

I know you said you are fully booked, but just a recommendation- Impala Guest House in Wick is fantastic, lovely breakfast and the owners were very welcoming.

If you are booked there already- might be good to know! :)

But thank you very much. I hope your ride goes swimmingly to :) And that you have an excellent time.

Not Long Now!

Heya, so I start John O Groats to Lands End in just under 3 weeks, scary stuff. Everything is booked and panic is settling in. Need a few suggestions, we obviously need to get lots of calories in per day and I was wondering really what types of food would you recommend as alternatives for pasta/rice...

Found it on that site you sent me- on the seat reservation page. Cant seem to find it using the nationalrail website. Does anyone kno...
