Thanks for that.

Re: Which Columbus tubing?
Rixon is the brand name for Rick Green's cycles in Handforth, is it not? They're still open, give 'em a ring? I did, I spoke to Paul who was very accommodating with my enquiry. He said that Neil Shankland would have built the frame and to give him a call which I did. If only he was as accommodating...

Which Columbus tubing?
I'm currently restoring a Rixon bike that is made from Columbus tubing but I don't know which tubing was used as the decals hadn't been replaced when it was last painted. How do I know ? As I want to put the correct decals back on.

New/ old bike currently going through a restoration. Bargain at £140 and since sold the incorrect 8 speed groupset for £100!

I have a smashing Rixon frame kitted out with Dura-Ace 7800 and I’m very happy with it.
Yes it's a lovely frame, only today I stripped the paint off to find the frame number which is quite low begins with RN.
Looking forward to seeing it completed

Thank you Elcani, yes I was intending to use 10 speed cassette and chain.

cheers
Thanks Brucey, it'll be a summer ride for me when it's completed.

Shimano Ultegra 6500
I'm currently restoring a recently purchased Rixon frame and would like to go with 10 speed. I prefer the look of the Ultegra 6500 parts which I think will look right on the bike my question is, is 6500 9 or 10 speed and will it work with 6700 front shifters?
Thanks in advance

Re: Extreme difficulty fitting tyres on Ambrosio P20 rims
Many thanks for all the replies. The rim tape is quite thin, I didn't use tyre levers on the last attempt, I'll certainly look into the tyre fitting tool from wiggle, the rims are tubeless compatible but I didn't particularly want to go down this route so I bought these tyres: https://www.spacycles....

Extreme difficulty fitting tyres on Ambrosio P20 rims
I've recently had a new pair of Ambrosio P20 rims built up. I was looking forward to getting them on one of my bikes but, believe it or not two weeks later I'm still struggling to get a pair of tyres on them. I Know the rims were sold as tubeless compatible but I wanted to use them with tyres and tu...

Re: Which work spd shoes - 3000 miles per year?
I have used a pair of Quoc Pham for the last 2 1/2 years. They've been fantastic, comfortable straight out of the box. Used for daily rides and touring. I'd certainly recommend them and they'd be on my list when they wear out but I can't see that happening for a while.
