Re: Effort or Speed?
[quote][/quoteMy feelings as well when getting an Orbea Gain for help on some hills. I've countered this by keeping split records of every ride - miles with and without the motor. There's a case for saying that the non-motor miles are worth more than those done on the pre-motor bikes - they weren't ...

Re: Effort or Speed?

Re: Effort or Speed?
I readily agree with Mick F regarding the merits of tackling (struggling) up hills under ones own power, and can understand his point of view, however for many people this is not attainable and so e-bikes fulfil a need. Speed or Effort though is relative , and probably more down to the limitations o...

Re: Good iPhone Road Bike holders suggestions

You have a case that fits on to the back of the phone with the quad lock on it that clips into the mount, there is...

Re: shropshire union canal - crossing the mersey.
I think mersetravel now have a "Walrus Card" that you load with a saveaway ticket that can be used on the ferry and not incur the high 'tourist fares of the ferries.
The Saveaway can be used on Trains buses and ferries for use after 0930 hrs

Re: parking in Oban
Just back - I would recommend the road the Seafood Temple is on - looked fine to me and fairly quiet. Just follow signs for ferry and go past the turn, follow the road and parking is on the right - you can't miss it.

Re: Sizing - Sulsa Vaya 3 ??
Thanks for the replies - my measurement of the Hewitt top tube is 580mm
so would only (perhaps) need a 10mm longer stem ?

Re: Putting Road tyres on a 26" wheel ?
Oh - having read that a 1.75 and a 1 and 3/4 were different cycle tyre sizes I thought it was more complicated.
Thanks for such a speedy response
