This is inappropriate on someone’s for sale post - I would remove.
Didn't mean to undermine anybody
Just trying to show a similar bike's value seeing as the op won't put a price up which is a shame if you ask me

Re: Vintage bike help

After servicing the headset and bottom bracket the next best up grade would be to replace the steel rims with some alloy one's along with brake pads , cables oh and don't forget to give the wheel bearings a service as well

Re: Pricing a bike for sale

One thing for sure they are good bikes with a good following .
I would love another one at some point .
Make sure you list components , size , any knocks or bruises along with a good selection of pictures showing the good and bad points and include your location in advert as that helps.
As for price you will have a figure in your mind so try and aim for that .

I have a couple of sets of these lights and they are very good and well worth it in my opinion.

Downside if any i am not sure if you can get replacement rubber straps for the front one

Re: Saddle (prostate) advice - not sure what to do.

Get in touch with Dilglove in the Uk
They are the UK distributors for selle smp who have done loads of research into the same issue.
They offer a trial period where if you don't get on with the test saddle you get your money back
So measure your sit bones have a look on line how to do it and get in touch with them .
I had same issue about 8 years ago and now only ride selle smp saddles with no padded shorts and i get on fine using either trk or lite 209 models

That looks good , as long as the stem and seat post are free to move anywhere between £50 and upwards for the complete bike

Where are you based ?

Whippet wrote:Very nice, looks like an Aerospace to me. Don’t know if it’s a Sport or a Pro. Looks like it has the original “Death Fork” as well. You’d do well to check which version of fork it is before you do too many miles on it. Version 3 is generally considered safest, but it’s up to you how much you want to risk a 40 year old fork that had a slightly notorious reputation.

It's a mark 3 version so more than happy to ride on it

Re: Galay Steel Frame repair advice please

As others have said if original owner you might be able to claim under lifetime warranty

Or send it to who is just outside lee Cooper outside Coventry who can handle that frame repair easy enough for you at a fair and honest rate
