Re: UK Transport committee - unfit for purpose?

Sorry but Buses and trains in my view are sustainable transport, they just need to be made greener. Electrification of both should be a priority . Buses could be induction chanrged at stops as in South Korea. and the Government needs to follow a forgotton promise to complete electrification . whilst...

Re: Unprovoked road rage

I did have a separate incident, back in June when a man in car decided I should not be on the road I was in one of the white dashed optional cycle lanes at the time, he was driving in the cycle lane to tell me I shouldn't be on the road, it was getting quite hairy I told him to pull over and we woul...

Re: Unprovoked road rage

As variouly a motorist, cyclist and pedestrian I do occasionally get it wrong. Split second decisions can go either way and minor distractions can have major consequences. My general practice is to apologise when wrong and escape intact when wronged. Obviously, an actual impact triggers a whole oth...

Re: 3 Day Suffolk Tour

If your going to Dunwich, the Minsmere bird reserve is near by and is worth a look. Going from Dunwich to Southwold if you go via walberswich, you can cross either by the Ferry or footbridge to Southwold. from Lowestoft to Norwich go via Reedham and the chain ferry, if you then have more time than y...

Re: Gear changing strategy; how do you use a triple?

Not quite the same As Brucey’s request but similar as I use a an SRAM DD3 -24 Hub gears are used as follows. I will select first gear for the following 1. Setting off from a standing start the great thing about the hub is it can be selected at standing 2. On unmade roads tracks and around town where...

Re: 3 in 1 Oil

nothing wrong with 3 in 1 but it doesn't last long so regular application required. I have used it a bit. But my Audax partner swears by it and uses it on his 10 speed campag setup which he use to commute all year round. oils with graphite in lube brilliant for things like locks and I reckon if they...

Re: Anyone selling a 2-wheel recumbent?

my method was find an empty car park assuming there is light incline face down it, low gear and a bold push off ride in circles just get the feel of the machine. don't forget to reverse direction so you get the feel of going left and right. Figure of 8, Starts and stops. Next try traffic free roads....

Re: Debt-chasing phone calls : wrong person : What to do ?

Hi, How to stop Wescot calls when they have the wrong person? They say I have to pay back what I owe and I said over and over that I am not that person, yet they still keep calling. I'm really annoyed. What should I do? Is it somebody using your name? is it somebody using your address ? or just a w...

Unprovoked road rage

Why is this happening, Motorists seem to be getting more aggressive again, twice this year, I have been abused because the other person doesn’t like the bike I ride? This morning’s incident I was assaulted for nothing more than he thought I should learn to ride a proper bike, I only got a partial pl...
