Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Come on...industrial grief at Longbridge was legendary, Torchy spent most of his time fighting industrial fires instead of driving up quality which was the main problem. So first you say that it is the workers' fault.... My time as a manager in SWales taught me that. We had a recievership caused by...

Re: Gloves that prevent blisters?

I have always worn gloves and never had blister. You want a snug fitting glove with a padded palm. Expensive doesn’t mean good in this case. Lidl have some in at the moment if you want cheap mitts. Mitts are best for summer.

Re: Are the British particularly big polluters?

You are making a couple of mistakes here firstly these are a whole per head of population, China is way behind America and Europe plus most of their pollution is producing goods for the west.
We do need world solutions but it has to start somewhere.

Re: Single Use Plastics

I agree with you one hundred about single use plastics. Just bought 10 bamboo tooth brushes to do my bit,( yes I know they still have plastic bristles, but that’s a lot less plastic. How often do you go through brushes? Apparently, the recommendation is to change them every 6 months! I am sure I ca...

Re: Saddle Height - Which Indicator More Reliable

The old 1.09 per cent rule still has supporters. The two thirds inner leg length likewise. Always go for the smaller frame. Can you explain the two thirds inseam. I am guessing this is not with the pedal at six o’clock. If that’s in the 12 o’clock position assuming a 30 inch inseam and 170mm crank ...

Re: Single Use Plastics

Walkers crisp packets made me think after buying a multipack a few weeks ago. Don't normally buy crisps. I know their packets have issues with recycling and I know they will be doing something about it in the future, so I googled it. In my research, I found many other packets and stuff which can't ...

I am all for the protest, except I heard today they planned to target the tube. Surely public transport is the solution not the problem?

Re: 20st. mid-20's Beginner "cyclist" looking for advice on where to start

Paddywan this is a big step well done, it really doesn’t matter what bike you start with. Take it steady at first, short trips on quite roads, your confidence and endurance will come fairly quickly. If you can use the bike to integrate with your life, going to the local shop, visiting a friend or re...

Re: Saddle Height - Which Indicator More Reliable

But know I did mean 108% of inseam, unless you have had your ankles fused. you need the reach to be slightly longer than your inseam to get power out . 108 comes from old racing setup but you will be comfortable somewhere between comfortable between 103 and 108% of inseam. Don't forget your foot ha...

Re: Extinction Rebellion

Or to stop people wanting to fly. Or wanting so much new stuff all the time. I reckon we all have a guilty something we need to cut back on or cut out altogether. Agreed, but I was posing the question if this is the way to raise public consciousness of the way we're living. One of the facebook quotes...
