i used a pair of Sketchers for footware in the evening ... v light and compact. You can hire towels so would not bother with that. A long sleeved cycling top in the day is a cardigan in the evening if you unzip it!

it depends on your route .... we used St Just. the Eden Project, Oakehampton then some SYHAs e.g. Arran and then independents such as Tongue and one at St Augustus (Morags .. would not recommend ... full of Chinese and Aussies making lots of noise ...). I think it would be hard to do the whole thing...

We came up from Whitchurch, Beeston, Tattersall and through to High Lea and then round to Leigh and to Bolton, Horwich, Chorley and then to Preston.

I can now answer my own question .. found their mobile no on their fb page and texted them ... no longer operating as a hostel .. going to be self catering accom on weekly let.

Lands End Hostel
Does anyone know when the lands end hostel is going to be taking bookings again (the private one no the YHA) - doing planning for our 2016 trip and this place has said not open to bookings for a while now. Ta

we are planning this year to do it with Orlieb front panniers on a rear lightweight rack .. this is credit card touring if you are not camping .. what do you need to stay in a b&b .. toothbrush?

Don't get this - you buy the bike and then you fit it yourself? -you want to do that when someone else can work it out for you and include that the cost! Then you do not have to change anything and you buy a great bike with a great fit! Plus a Hewitt comes with Hewitts handbuilt wheels which are the...

my vote goes to Paul hewitt - it comes with a fit on a jig. The review in last months copy of Cycle is worth a read. Came out well.

just ridden it this weekend - a descent all right but not much worse than many of the hills in the north of uk .. caution is required as for any descent!

Tigerbiten clearly did not cycle in the NW fijords - we spent best part of the day going up and down over the hill in some grim conditions .. would not have missed it for the world!

Grunavik is Grindavík I think - really good campsite there with good cooking facilities - we used it as a base to cycle to the Blue Lagoon - hopeless commercial and expensive but figured it was a once in a lifetime ... managed a whole day there and took own lunch ...
