Cycling tops/jerseys for those of us a little mature

Hi want to get some cycling tops (do a lot of touring) but the days of tight fitting race style are long gone. Plus who wants to see a super annuated bloke whose chest has slipped down a bit to the middle.

Any recommendations and if so who stocks this style.

Thanks in advance

Re: Costa Blanca and good cycling

Thanks guys plan to check some of those areas out in April. I like the hills and mountains but if I want my wife to ride with me 'fraid it needs to be flat.

I have cycled 1000's miles in USA and now have a holiday home in Florida, never any real problems and absolutely love it.

Mrjemm check out the trails in Florida - some wonderful riding try "rails to Trails" as a start.

In fact I am more and more concerned about cycling in my area due to the volume of traffic on unsuitable roads full of pot holes.

Re: Money and long-distance touring

I use a mixture of debit, credit, cash loaded Caxton and a $100 note rolled up in poly and inserted in the waist band of whatever I'm wearing. Had it for years now and touch wood never got into a situation of having lost everything and having to use it.

Be wary of ATM machines and if unsure go in the bank and use a teller or some supermarkets give cash back.

Lot of very clever con men out there with a great line on how to double your money preying on young travellers.

I never leave anything of value in someone else's care or where I don't have in sight, no matter how well I've got to know them.
Everything of value even comes in the shower with me.

Have to add that I have always felt safer out in the country on my bike just a bit of care and you will be OK Have a great trip.

In a taxi you simply count out the fare, then subtract 3 pounds for each violation.[/quote]

This I would like to see :)

Do cyclists have special needs?

Just read a post about meeting the county crime Commissioner and wondered if cycling should be treated the same way as people with special needs. That is legislation which makes it compulsory to take into account the needs of cyclists whenever a planning application for new roads or alterations are submitted.

Maybe there is something in place as I don't pretend to know much about the subject as this was just a question that came to mind.

Well done and it would be a very positive step forward if a "cycle" friendly police officer had regular input to all future road traffic planning.

Re: Things you've never done

I've never told my wife how much my bikes cost. (she doesn't tell me about her shoes)
I've never spent more than I can afford. Unlike my wife on shoes
I've never really counted how many bikes I've got. Might find out I haven't enough :D Ditto my wife
I've never bought a tie
I've never been fishing or hunting
I've never finished a
