Re: not a breeze
As someone who is a relative lightweight it feels dangerous to ride in really high winds like we had earlier this week. Not to mention the wind is one of my major asthma triggers.

Re: Cycling Pics
It was Ride the Lights last night. Thousands and thousands of riders enjoyed a preview of this years Illuminations on a traffic free Promenade.

The Blaze guys were brilliant and as well as riding the lights they entertained many of us too

Re: Time to get fit and loose some weight
Nope, it's never too late to start.
I started cycling again last year after a near fatal chest infection and giving up smoking. I have 50% lung function left and although it's tough going my cardio-vascular fitness is improving. Don't seem to dropping much weight but then I'm only a 120lbs anyway.
I still get mildly sore legs after I've pushed myself in some way, like after Thursday's Clarion ride when we rode further than I have for the past 20yrs.
+1 for beer and/or tea stops on longer jaunts.
The benefits come relatively quick with a little application.
Happy pedaling Phil

I don't even drive but have been known to put my bike lights in my bag when being picked up by a pal in a car.

I was so looking forward to having a cycle computer at last but have just had to take the Lidl one I bought this week back. Back to the drawing board.

Re: Shorts and modesty
I wouldn't dream of inflicting my lycra/coolmax clad ass to the world and so wear regular shorts over my cycling shorts.

This puts me in mind of something a wise person once told me many moons ago...
...The older I grow, the more I recall, how little I knew when I knew it all.
