Re: The training starts here ....

Good luck jd, there are some tough times ahead but it will be worth it (to get fit), don't push it too much that it puts you off, just enough to stretch you.

Check out my training on my webpage: http://mikesjogle.webnode.com/

Re: Not Long Now!

You will get to Land's End the day after I set off from John O'Groats, so I'm afraid I can't offer you any of me experience as I haven't done it yet, I will however offer your my very best wishes for a successful & enjoyable JOGLE.

Re: Mike's JOGLE

I did 75 over the Mendips inc. up Cheddar Gorge yesterday only because I wanted to train in the rain! Weather was so bad they cancelled Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride quite understandably! St Austell to Bristol (charity/training ride) this weekend and BBC forecast heavy rain for Friday! Oh, what fun t...

Re: Mike's JOGLE

80 mile training ride to Chester today, I'd planned to do a little detour on the way back to increase my mileage, but the weather was atrocious so I came back the same route I went! Less than 6 weeks to my JOGLE now, so only 5 more training rides to go, I'm beginning to think I wish I'd booked it e...

I'm making good progress on my website but would like to add a map of the Uk with my route highlighted on it, can anyone advise a good source for me to do this?

Re: Chain wear

Cheaper to replace the chain before the cassette is worn. Absolutely agree This has saved me many cassettes and probably chainrings as well. Replace the chain when at .75 and your drivetrain will last many chains. That's similar to the one I have. I'm always of the opinion, especially with somethin...

Chain wear

I bought my bike, new, last September & as I hadn't cycled for over 30 years I have been gradualy buidling up fitness... up to 80 miles per ride now. I checked my chain last week with a guage & it is 70% worn. I've only done 1600 miles, is it normal for a chain to wear so fast? I've already ...
