Re: Pushing Uphill, Should it be Accepted, Maybe EvenRecomme

I don't mind getting off to push up steep stuff. it stretches the legs, and gets cold feet warmed up.
I f I were in such a rush that I worried about pushing up a hill, I would pack cycling in. I cycle to take in views and fresh air, a short walk is good for this.

Re: Family tour in France.....help!

thanks for the info.
I am going to have to do some homework re the routes.
just a quick question, when you use the cycling option on google maps, does it plot route using minor roads, or the quickest cycling route?

Re: touring set up bike wise ? - what bike ??

i have bought this bike for the very same reasons you have stated. years of riding every kind of bike, and now settled for pootling/touring about and this seems to fit the bill. cheap and purposefull. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8249/8634332341_2c8c47befe_z.jpg 09.04.13 humdrum 003 by 20ston , on ...

Re: where to get some 'away from the norm' cycling clothing.

there is a rohan shop in Leeds in the Victoria Quarter.
some nice clothing but a bit more walking specific.
i have found some bontrager commuter trousers which are ideal, not too pricey also.
