your sadle needs to be level and set to the correct height. I found this out as I had same problem and it cured it.

Hi, you should cycle allong Route 66 as most of it is relativly traffic free and through the countryside.

You should not have such pain when cycling. Knee pain is the result when your saddle is too high at the front, it should be level.

Hi, search for ' bike stands ' on ebay. I did that and bought a really good one for £12 that holds any bike solid enough to work on plus it folds down for storage.

Hi, if you have a proper bike shop (one run by bikers) they could obtain mountainbike mudguards in various widths to suite your tyres.
