If you can spend another £40 you could get the Canon Powershot SX500 IS which is a bridge camera but quite compact. I bought one from Argus and at £140 reduced it's a bargain and a cracking camera. 30x optical zoom, 16mp. It won't fit in a small pocket but fits fine in my bar bag.

Lovely place for cycling. Went there last year.

Starting from Lourdes i will head west after visiting the Pyrenees to do the Atlantic Coast route. Ferry from Roscoff to Plymouth and then either cycle home back to Birmingham or get train.

I did a tour of Holland and Germany last year and all i can say is it was a Joy to cycle in those countries. Enjoy.

I can recommend the B&B in Altnaharra. Stopped there when i did my Jogle last year. Lovely 3 course evening meal. Amazing price for what you get.

I can't really think of anything suitable for kids tour wise. The cycling infrastructure just isn't that great in Britain. I'm off to cycle in Holland and Germany in the summer and i think it's going to be so different to over here.
