Re: Southern Spain winter tour
Thanks again for all your assistance. We don’t mind hilly but having enjoyed Ventoux this year we don’t want too many days like that.

Re: Southern Spain winter tour
Thanks for your reply. At the moment we intend to fly from East Mids to Malaga airport and ideally use public transport to our first
accommodation . Then talk nicely to the owner and hopefully leave the tandem bike box there .
We prefer to ride 40 to 50 mile days, looping back to our starting point over approximately 7 days
As Spain is new to us we’re open to any suggestions.

Southern Spain winter tour
Can anyone advise us of a suitable area for a winter break on our tandem (in late February)
We like the look of the area around “Ronda” but are concerned it may be too mountainous for a pair of oldies.
Any advise on finding accommodation would also be appreciated.

Re: Tandem timing chain
Thanks all for your help however perhaps I need to further explain our problem .with the new chain the length of the old one , and the ebb at its longest .the new chain is too loose. If I remove a link then even on the shortest ebb position the chain is too short.
I have been advised that I should force the chain on and live with the tightness until it loosens up. I’ve tried that but it’s so tight that the pedals don’t turn freely.
Oh the fun we have on bikes

Tandem timing chain
Can anyone suggest an explanation? Having replaced both chainrings and the timing chain on our Thorn tandem , the eccentric bottom bracket won’t allow correct adjustment. It appears that to get the full adjustment I need to add a half link to the chain, which can’t be correct?
With the eccentric adjusted to its shortest the chain would be much to tight, and fully the other way it’s loose. All help would be gratefully received

Tandem touring New Zealand
I’m trying to organise a trip to the South Island for my husband and I early 2023. Does anybody have a contact for cycle hire? Google searches only give email addresses that do not work. Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Re: Diabetic Feet on Tour
Hi there
If you are passing Aldi pop in and buy some cycling overshoes. They will keep your feet warmer and hopefully DRIER which is the main thing. Good lick with your ride.

Re: Cycling Caen to Nice
Thanks for all your help. It gives us a few leads to look into. Looks like a one way hire may be the best and cheaper option, if we can get a van that will take our tandem. When we sort out the return journey we will put any information on the blog.

Cycling Caen to Nice
We are planning to cycle Caen to Nice May 2015. Returning to Caen by train.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Oh I forgot to say we may be riding a tandem. Although we have travelled from Calais to Bolougne by train with our tandem I was wondering if it was just as easy further south, and whether we have to prebook? Any info would be helpful ie: route, accomodation (not camping), trains.
We live near Burton on Trent Staffs. Is anyone close by that maybe we could meet in order to pick your brains?
