Re: What milage do you get with a Bosch Drive?

Same bike, same rider, different terrain and conditions I’ve seen between 40-120km out of a Bosch 625 battery.

Re: Sending a Bike by Courier

A number of couriers have temporarily paused large box services due to current parcel volumes being too high to accommodate them, TNT & UPS seem to be ok still though.

receiving an income from a company dividend rather than a salary

Choosing to pay oneself via dividend rather than salary reduces overall taxation by having a lower tax rate, extra allowance and not needing to pay N.I. It should really, therefore, come with a higher degree of risk, one of which has just crystallised. I know quite a few people in this situation, t...

Re: New to cycling... advice

If you are looking for a road bike - Specialized Allez Elite - comes with a 105 11 speed groupset, alloy frame, currently £1050 at Evans Cycles. My local Evans will allow you to test ride bikes, if you surrender you4 credit card to them whilst testing the bike. Is your Evans still open? Our local o...

Cycle Security Advice sought

I use an Abus Frame lock & chain plus a keyed alike Abus Bordo alarm lock, two very different types of security for a thief to try and break, plus one of them would be squawking away if you tried to attack either, or saw through the frame as I’ve seen happen in London, I’ve also got the Abus Nut...

Re: OK - JOGLE September 2020 it is!

Hi After 7 years of putting it off and making excuses up I was, finally, due to start my JOGLE this weekend, but have obviously had to postpone. It has made me re-think my route after reading more and more posts regarding the A82. I did try and look for a route from Fort Augustus cross country to D...

Re: 10 day LeJog (100 miles per day). 2015

When I trained for our JoGLE I tried riding 4-5 days in a row to see how my body coped, I'd ride 40-50 on a Friday evening, then 60 odd on a Saturday, 80ish Sunday, then try to do 40-60 on a Monday evening, I was quite surprised how well I recovered. We averaged 84 miles a day for 12 days, then when...

Re: Switzerland cycle route 5 & Eurovelo route 5

Well I made it, my first solo tour, 560 miles across Germany, Switzerland and France, longest day was 130 miles sandwiched between a 118 & a 97, just 70 to Dieppe today made for a pleasant lunch and afternoon, just waiting to board the ferry back to Blighty. Bike performed faultlessly, no pu****...

Re: What electronics do you use for navigation or tracking?

Garmin Edge 1000 but with a more recent European Openstreet map, then with a paper map for a wider view & detours. I set out across Switzerland tomorrow to ride home from Germany through France using this method.

Side saddle cycling

Riding to work at Eurobike this morning I saw this, one of the most unusual bikes I've seen:
